In the world of AGSA each of the 3 main super factors had developed a Mutually Assured Destruction (MAD) weapon known as Red Alert.
A missile with the power of 1 million atomic bombs from the last great war within its payload a Red Alert can devastate a large base and all defenders.
It should be noted that the silo to house such a superweapon will cripple a players economy, ability to deploy military vehicles as well as consuming a network of power stations.
The missile also has a rather long preparation time before deployment is possible.
For lore purposes you can imagine a commander rushing to use all his resources to gain first strike capability.
