Description

A main battle tank of Swedish origin, the Panther became the mainstay of ESDF forces on the ground worldwide after besting the Guardian, an British-made design, in field tests across the board.

The Panther is an impressive balance of power, durability, and maneuverability and had a molded frame that helped keep production costs down. Its high-velocity gun can reliably punch through light vehicles, base defenses, power plants and production structures.

In addition, each Panther tank was equipped with a target-designating module, which is built directly into the turret. Designed to complement other ESDF weapons platforms, the target designator relays targeting information to nearby ESDF forces. By accounting for thousands of marginal factors, the durability of enemy targets to incoming fire is reduced.

A Panther tank was unable to maintain the beam through the recoil of its main gun's firing sequence, so crews must coordinate well to decide which unit will provide support.

The Panther is a T1 MBT available to all ESDF commanders upon construction of a War Factory. It is effective against light vehicles, base defenses, power plants and production structures. Its main armament is ineffective against infantry and heavier vehicles which are designed to counter massed T1 units.

The Panther can switch to a support mode with a targeting laser which will reduce the durability of enemy armor and structures. It cannot fire its main gun during this mode and commanders should note the delay when switching modes.
