Age of the Samurai is a total conversion mod for Mount and Blade: Warband. The primary goal of this mod is to convert Mount and Blade: Warband's exsisting single player content, into an historically accurate game set in the Sengoku period of Japan's history. Our vision will see the game have: Completely changed NPC names, equipment and text to reflect the period the mod is set in. This includes changing all recruitable troop tree names to new Japanese troop classes. To have 6 full clans(At the moment they are): Oda, Tokugawa, Uesugi, Shimazu, Takeda-Sunada alliance and Tachibana To have a completely new campaign map designed to look like Japan, with major cities and castles of the era present upon it. To completely change equipment available to the player. Wield anything from Katana to Naginata while displaying your clan's honor with a heraldic Kabuto. An original sountrack with authentic sounding Japanese music and voice overs. Additional Gameplay features not in the vanilla version

Have you ever had the feeling that you want to start an own kingdom but you cant or that you don't have enough men.

No worries about that any longer:

Age of the Samurai clan presenting the elite unit of the Shimazu clan The Shimazu Berseker:

Xfire.com

This Berseker is Perfect and really PERFECT for storming walls this unit can kill(if he is in a good mood) between the 0 and 9 enemies alone all by himself isn't that wonderful.
If you want to start your own Kingdom then its a MUST to have a couple of these guys with you for storming walls(or defending).

Do I need to say more.

Also, we have a couple of images of our first fully completed weapons up in our images tab. Give them a look and tell us what you think.

The Age of the Samurai Mod Team.

UPDATE: Unfortunanly our release was SERIOUSLY delayed by real life. Our mod was put on hold for a week or so while i had work and whatnot.

When we finally managed to take up work on it again, it was well past our "release" date and after some discussion, the team decided that the alpha release will be post-phoned until a later date.

Our reasoning was, the current alpha product just isn't terribly fun to play, as it is essentially, a bunch of broken parts, a new (incomplete map) and just renamed characters. We wanted to make sure our first true release (even a alpha/beta) contains a demonstration of all our team's abilities. So we're working hard to make sure the release will contain a decent amount of new items, a complete map and no loose ends.

So rest assured, when our release does come about, we are going to make sure it has plenty of surprises, even for an impartial release.

I like what you're trying to do, but rather than a total conversion, why not just add a Japanese styled kingdom? It seems there is plenty of room on the eastern area of the map for a new kingdom. Or just replace the gray kingdom. (Forgot their name

That was actually my initial Idea for the mod, however, it just seemed, inappropriate.

My initial desire for this mod was to just play the SP campaign and MP with Katana and Japanese armor. But once we got the ball rolling we though that a whole TC would be much more fun/rewarding and look better on our resumes haha.

I know It's taking time, but I think in the long run, this'll be worth it
