Age of Empires 1: HD Edition. Release Version 2.0.
1) Download the .zip file
2) Extract
3) Go into the folder and run the application "gameinstaller" which is the executable file. It's better to be ran in admin mode.
4) The command prompt will appear updating the progress. Some files are large and may take a bit to copy.
5) A shortcut will be created on the desktop. Double click this to run the game.
6) Go online and play on ESO with other players. Create a new home city to see benefits, and to make sure no cards are remaining from AoE3 homecities.
This installer copies the base game from the location found in the registry, then it cuts the files downloaded for the mod and pastes them in the new mod directory. It then creates a shortcut and moves the maps to my Documents. This installer currently does not work with pirated copies of the game. I may release a version with a new even more effective installer in the future. If you want to see the code to know what it does, check the python file.
Updates to the mod will come in executable files that move updated .xml documents to the game to update stats and bug fixes. Please let me know of any bugs that are in the game as I'd like to fix them. And let me know of any suggestions for mod balance. I will do my best to release easy to install updates in a quick manner. I may work on a completely new installer that will be even easier to install, which would be version 3.0
If you're using an illegitimate copy of the game. You can go to your directory with the base Age Of Empires 3 installation, copy and paste it to make a copy. Then cut the /bin/ from the download and paste it over (and overwriting) all the files you just copied. Then go into /bin/data/ of the mod folder and delete the files (stringtabley.xml.XMB , techtreey.xml.XMB , and protoy.xml.XMB). Then move the maps in /bin/RM3 to .....Documents\My Games\Age of Empires 3\RM3 . After that launch the game from the mod directory using the age3y.exe file. Creating a shortcut to this is advised.
Excellent job! But I have a problem the installer closes before install the mod completly!
and when I want to run the mod from the new folder "AoE3AoE1HDMOD" l only found the age3y exe (asian dinastyes exe).
I have a clean steam version of the game, any solution please?
