Part 2 of Blog Nr.3 was cancelled. To make up for this misery I publish two mainthemes in full length.

Hello everyone !

Sad news today, due to some major issues with my recording software I decided to not do a second part of the third blog. :/
However, to make up for this I decided to publish two mainthemes as an apology.

The first one is the maintheme of the Kingdom Of Gondor.

Gondor is weakened because it had to fight against endless numbers of orcs for many years. Its power dwindles and there is not much hope for the Men of the West. A solo horn starts with the first statement of the theme later being embedded into melancholic string chords. These are soon brushed aside by a far more powerful statement by the whole brass section to show off the heroism still found within the hearts of men. In the background there are still uncertain and fragile chords played by the rest of the orchestra.
In between a sorrowful flute marks the theme once again in front of nervous strings until the famous tutti build up reaches its climax and shows Gondors strength to the fullest in the finale.

The second one is the maintheme of the Kingdom Of Rohan.

There is not much to tell here, everyone knows Rohans theme played on a solo Hardanger fiddle. Here the whole string section has the fundamental role of playing chords and the soaring melody soon to be supported by a very very untypical driving drumline. Untypical in terms of not used in the original score where Rohan really focuses on melody. When the drums drop out the heroic brass comes in and gives the melancholic mood of Rohans motifs and themes a powerful note towards the end.

This is it for today, once I get my sh*t together again, the video to follow will be all about the Hollywood Orchestra.

Loving Gondor as always, though the Rohan track may be pushing for my favourite :D

I absolutely love the viking-esque instruments used for the Rohan theme. <3
