What is this "beast" anyway?
They're the bad guys from Homeworld: Cataclysm
Parasitic Organisms that infect ships in which takes over the crew and electronic components. They can infect ships from fighters to frigates. Capital and Super Capital ships are immune due to a protacol which orders the captin of the ship to flush super heated plasma from the fusion drives into the certain parts of the infected ship, destroying the infected crew and infection itself.
