You know what, you're right. I'll look at creating a demo version.

There's no demo planned at this time, sorry.
Thanks for the info. I will install XPsp3 and test and get back to you.
Does running:
sudo apt-get install libopenal1
work?
You can ensure it's the 64-bit version if there is a lib64 folder in the Bean's Quest folder. What Linux distro are you running?
By freeze do you mean a low frame rate, or does it crash? Do you have the latest version of your graphics card drivers? Is there a difference between windowed and fullscreen mode?
It's probably just missing 32-bit dependencies like libstdc++. Installing 32-bit versions of those should solve allow the 32-bit build to run.
Glad to hear the 64-bit build is working though :).
Sorry for all the trouble, are you running 64-bit or 32-bit linux? There is both a 32-bit and 64-bit build of the game, does the standalone download work?
Desura should have added a "desura_launch_Play.sh" file, is that there?
If not try running:
LD_LIBRARY_PATH="$PWD/lib32" ./BeansQuest
It's definitely ready and live for all platforms, do the standalone downloads on the right work?
The music is by Flashygoodness! Flashygoodness.com
He's best known for the popular Tower of Heaven game.
Yes joystick is supported on Windows and Linux (but not Mac at this point).
We have added a 64-bit Linux build as well.
We are looking into it; we don't currently have a linux64 install at the moment.
Hi everyone, the game will be released on Monday 27 Feb 2012. It will be available on Windows, Linux and Mac for €3.99 / $4.99 / £2.99.
