To Start yOur Mod From the Desktop Launcher

First its a good idea to know you can run any mod.
I downloaded Dystopia and used the Desktop Launcher
It worked!!
So I used it as an example to solve my BG2 problem.

First verify your file path
mine was:
C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\SourceMods\bg2

Apparently this can be differnt depending on how and when
you installed valve or steam or wtf-ever. :devil:

Next I checked the Properties of the Launcher itself
BINGO!!
If you right click on the desktop icon,
{for me = "Battle Grounds 2 0.17"}
and scroll down to the bottom "Properties"

1) First Problem: Target: Line
For some reason the " " was left out
around the second half of this line

original:
"C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\Steam.exe" -applaunch 320 -game c:\program files\valve\steam\SteamApps\SourceMods\bg2

fixed:
"C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\Steam.exe" -applaunch 320 -game "c:\program files\valve\steam\SteamApps\SourceMods\bg2"

2) Second Problem: Start in: Line
For some reason this line was BLANK!! :eek:

original:

fixed:
"c:\program files\valve\steam\SteamApps\SourceMods\bg2"

You'll notice that this is simply the second half of the Target Line
The Shortcut key: Run: Comment: lines leave as they are.

Summary:
If your file path is diffent than mine, so shall your Target: and Start in: lines be.
Also after you run the game it will show up on your MY Games List

Last and Final:
This is a great MOd Well worth the download and any minor problem to
get it to run.
