Why bother writing a bio, its not going to be that interesting anyway. I'm also a student, as such I keep strange hours.
Oh goody, more spam to deal with.....
Having looking through the link posted by F10 I can state with certainly it's got nothing in the slightest to do with this mod. It relates to nefarious dealings by a website called TheSimsResource. We have no affiliations, communications or anything to do with said site.
Now can we please all behave so I can finish the video to go with the next update? Please?
Another reason it looks finished is because we only put 'finished' stuff in the screen-shots. If you compare what you've seen to the TS unit-list you'll see there are still some largish holes.
Ok...... where to start. I know, let's start with logic.
1 - Insulting/threatening a mod team is not the best way to encourage them to work harder/faster. Offering to help does. So if you can model, send us some examples.
2 - If all the team wanted was a private mod then why would you announce it to the public?
3 - THIS. IS. DONE. IN. PEOPLES. FREE. TIME. - and people don't always have lots of free time.
4 - FREE TIME, FOR FREE. - see above.
5 - If you'd bothered to read some of the other comments there you'd know why we haven't requested Carnius' assistance. I'll quote Golan here just for you. "Our main bottleneck is 3D/2D art. While I quite like Carnius' work, it exclusively follows the TW artstyle which simply doesn't fit to our work."
6 - If you're really that angry then a PM will do, not this mountain of spam.
7 - Given that you're both in theory American would it really hurt to do a spelling and grammar check before you hit post?
While I'm aware that trolls thrive on attention I figure I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. Once.
Sorry for the late reply, been rather busy with RL commitments.
Given that we need to get all the core mechanics of both sides as well as all their units in-game first progress is currently halted on the ecosystem work.
On the screenshots side of things, I'll see what I can do but as Golan has said we need some more modellers.
Send your applications to me and Cypher if you've got time and skill.
Off the top of my head I have the feeling it would break several laws pertaining to copyright. Any lawyers out there feel free to enlighten me though.
You've hit it pretty much on the head there.
You'd have to PM Assassin or Cypher about that sort of thing.
It's not finished yet, but we progress ever closer.
There are no plans to incorporate the Scrin at this time since they don't really feature in TS (except as a crashed starship).
They're under Juggernaught fire.
Yeah...... Nod really made an effort with this attempt.
And ready for Easter we have a proper update for you. Hope you like the jump-jet trooper, Nods infantry and the new Ion cannon FX.
When in doubt throw everything at it. Up to and including the kitchen sink.
Well spotted. Placement is still WIP atm.
We've also got them in plenty of other colours.
Nope. Almost all the textures there are from default TW.
The subterrain mechanics work properly, (bar a couple of bugs we're still hunting down), so no strangely teleporting tanks.
Good instincts on the lighting, spotted what we've done yet?
Didn't actually manage to win with this push, the titans got back across the base in time to save the day.
Enjoy the new screen-shots everyone, they're from our new urban night-fighting map. It's a nightmare of narrow pathways and vehicular deathtraps...... perfect for infantry.
Some of you may also notice a little something we've added to get closer to the TS atmosphere.
Yep, some new screenshots from our new night time urban map. Keep your eyes peeled for updates on the battle as things are certain to escalate.
As already stated they show ownership of units / buildings instead of using team-colour on the models.
They've been getting improved slowly over time to be less obtrusive but still easily visible.
We're always getting closer to a release...... that being said progress has slowed recently, I blame an outbreak of real life....
Jokes aside, should have a proper news update for you soon and I'll try and get some battle screenshots up before then.
Given that Cel-shading defines an art style I'd imagine it's possible. Anyone who knows better feel free to correct me though.
Beat me to it.
Nah, they're from base TW. Part of the Australia doodads section IIRC.
I can see what you mean with the red, dusty terrain.
Now I'm sure I remember Golan saying give us roughly two weeks to show off some of our new civilian structures........
Ooo look, new screenshots.
Also see Golans comment :- "The UI needs an overhaul, though that's not much of a priority for a demo. Some mechanics don't work quite as expected yet, namely the Medic, Radar upgrades and DropShipBay need some bug hunting. Structures need a few more animations for construction, destruction and selling. Balance is a tad experimental ATM, but we'll probably have to figure that out with public testing anyways.
The biggest problem currently is the AI, we've got a cheap solution for it but would prefer doing it properly for future compatibility. In case of doubt, this won't prevent a release, however."
The 'how much is left to do' question is always a tricky one. Mainly because each individual person has a different idea with what they would be happy with as the beta release.
At one end we have what we've got now, which is missing units, features, a competent AI and is full of bugs. At the other end is a perfectly polished, bug free, game with an epic campaign.
If you were to take a middle ground of two full sides, working AI for both and only a basic tiberium system. (No campaign, tib only as resources so no ecosystem) then we've got GDI almost done, about 70ish% of Nod done and all the AI still to do.
As to how long that will take, I can't say as this is all done in our free time and how much of that we have varies wildly.
Anyway, hopefully this gives you all a little bit on insight into how close we are to letting you get your hands on it.
(Disclaimer :- All %s are mostly guesswork, I'm sure Golan or one of our other coding team will happily tell you how correct they are. :P)
(2nd Disclaimer :- I don't get to pick the release state, the middle ground example is purely what I would be happy with.)
Hindsight is always 20/20. Lucky for me he didn't have any.
So.......... screenshots for everyone!
Hope you guys all like them.
