My name is David Lundvall, a game developer from Sweden. I started doing level design in 1998 after playing a lot of Quake 2 and Half-Life, my favorite games. Quake 2 with an addictive multiplayer and Half-Life with its immersive single player experience. Today I am moving a lot between the different disciplines, both professionally and during my free time. But my focus is more towards art than game design. And coffee is nice. :)
Really happy to hear that you enjoyed Spherical Nightmares, so much that you played it again! I will definitely not let you wait another 5 years for next mod/game/map. Thanks!
Wow, thank you WookieFragger! I can't ask for a better comment/review. Hearing about players experience playing the mod is fantastic. Your story/journey is definitely how I want players to feel and experience. Let the imagination run wild. Because the story, the Sphere, the island, the tests... everything is not explained 100%. You are a test subject, you remember things.. The whole thing is meant to feel mysterious, dark and abstract. Your mind should go a bit crazy. Awesome to hear your story and when you looked up the sky and saw the Sphere/Dome.
Thank you! There are players wanting to have a more explained story, about the island/sphere, the black/white memory/flashback moments and the ending, but it's meant to be this way. Anyway, happy to hear you had a good experience, maybe a replay would tie some loose ends. :)
It's up on PP now: Planetphillip.com
Looking forward to watch it!
Haha, awesome! Good moment. :)
You can't start/play the mod? Do you have Half-Life 2: Episode Two?
Thank you Selyp!
Hmm, I don't know. It works for me and others. When you click download you get this popup window: "Click to download sphericalnightmares_v1.zip if it doesn't start automatically or try another mirror."
If that doesn't work, there are other download links on the official website, www.sphericalnightmares.com and you can also download it soon at www.planetphillip.com
Does the game freeze or are you stuck in the geometry/collision of the train?
Ye, maybe not too obvious. I might iterate on this in a future patch as it also breaks some of the established Half-Life 2 rules.
Great to hear, thanks for playing!
Awesome, thank you!
Glad you found it, have fun! :)
Not yet, but today it will be. :)
i did, thanks for great feedback, again. :)
Thank you! :)
Thanks! No mappers or additional developers are needed for this project as it's coming to an end. All levels are finished, now the mod is just going through playtests and bug fixing to make for a quality release. Thanks for interest though! :)
Thanks mate, means a lot! Looking forward to see you play it. Love your videos. :)
Hehe, thank you! It's not far away now, looking through all the feedback, going through all the bugs and improving as much as I can at the moment.
Indeed. :)
I contacted both Phillip and the Beta Testers Collective. I didn't hear back from them. But it's okay, I have enough testers. I will investigate what went wrong. I can give you a playtest copy. I need your mail. :)
thanks! true about missing texture, but it's only speed modelling, so... :)
nom nom! :)
Nice trailer. Scary ****! :O
Video looks great. Moody and the shotgun feels awesome. :)
love is always nice :)
Yea, turn up the volume! The video is really cool too. :)
There is a story behind the dome shaped mesh. It will be revealed in full detail inside the game . You are on the right track, but there is more to it of course. Enough said. :)
10 levels is a lot, but needed and the quality will the same throughout. That's my goal and I won't release something that I feel could have been much better.
