Thanks! Every track, every like - It all helps! :)
One is in the works, I don't have a release date though.
For more frequent updates, check us on facebook or twitter! :)
Jaret/Ganondorf is a new team member (2D Art) and already (as you can see) he's been hard at work, he has our thanks and I'm sure he'd appreciate yours!
Hey this doesn't look half bad, never played amnesia but the story looks like it could be worth something :p
Keep it up man!
We can't wait to deliver it, but sadly all good things take time :/
Yeah, if you played Warcraft III you'll know quite a lot of things weren't proportional, it definitely carries that 'exaggerated/cartoon-esque' feel and were trying to replicate that!
Thanks for the feedbacks guys!
www.wclotd.com - Online, though lacking content. This will be your best friend for news, content and general information in the coming months guys and gals, enjoy!
An article will come, along with more 'held back' media ^_^
So yes, I'm happy to say we have been busy.
But we promised you something before the end of Jan... This is it!
-> 2 Music Tracks
-> 10+ New Images
-> Some of which show 3 new models!
Triggers for such a system can be done leaklessly in GUI, or conversly more efficient in JASS or vJASS.
Hey, Id just like to let you know that I'm head of a team remaking Warcraft in starcraft and I've been interested in making this in sc2 once our initial project is released, Good job and good luck.
Yup, a few people have already pointed that out, therefore the working title is actually; wclotd (Warcraft: Legacy of the damned) but we still often refer to it as wc4sc2, as that... is basically 'what it is (a sequel to War3 in the sc2 engine)'.
The moddb address won't be changed as it would break several link backs - which we could do without having to replace!
Thanks for the support, hopefully we'll have something more for you guys in the coming weeks!
The promised image is up ;)
GreyNightmare Never Really left the team, and now hes taken a more active role in proceedings, being more of a manager now.
We are currently trying to figure out if Sc2 Supports Cel-Shading.
The others aren't Learning the new editor, I am fully confident I will be able to preform editing duties myself, my only intent was to warn you that it will not be swift in coming until we can find more Editors.
Thanks for the encouragment.
Infact, Polies have little to do with game preformance! Its generaly a combination of bones and animations combined with a large number of polies. Polies will increase filesize, which may increase loading time however, but will have little impact on gameplay, Especially sc2's gameplay.
Those are legs, It is a walker type Unit.
The World Is Flat
Just incase anyone stumbles across this, it's official. This is dead. The team moved on. (I spoke to the leader)
Thanks! We appreciate your comments!
The World IS Flat
Replied to your pm ;)
Mods, though I actually left the team earlier today.
If you don't play sc2, they're basically resource/script storage files that you upload alongside maps, you can link your maps to an unlimited amount of mods to "grab resources" from. :)
Nah, I doubt they'd quit this late in the game, have some faith!
@King - I was just curious, I know your using A LOT of imports for this, not to mention "upgrading" the visual graphics. Of course for campaigns this will mean nothing, but in multiplayer are the maps going to be 5-8mb or have you managed to put the resources into client accessed MPQ's? :p
I can see Protev's Orgrov... Damn this is sexy
Again, Like alot of your models, it appears to be only bascially textured, will this be remedied in the next release?
Most likley a model edit?
The Texture is rather blurry, is that becasue of your settings?
But more specifically?
Also, I don't know if its just me, But the texture looks small, blurry and streched, like plastic...
Now this, unlike some of your other models has a very well refined texture.
The Texture is Rather streched.
No, but the artist might :)
Thanks for the input.
Ok, that's fine, is their any particular reason though? (so as I can ensure the musicians are aware of any mistakes and don't repeat them in the future).
+ Thanks King
There not, it's just the angle ^^
If you look at the textured image their fine ;)
Thanks although, as for it's actual use is TBD, it could be for a cinematic or something ;p
Progress bar/lighting effect needs to be slightly darker, in the bigger res (original) image it's hard to see, otherwise it's pretty cool.
Umm... we've just uploaded the images - we didn't declare any media update - that's just moddb being silly.
We will once those pieces of information are finalised, thankyou for the pointer.
~ Grey Nightmare
Fair point raider, at the moment our artists are doing a lot of logo wipe in their spare time, we have yet to adopt one. We are uploading the higher quality ones here, precisely for comments like your own ;)
"Hey Otter thanks for the warning, we did think about this, which is the reason for 'officially' labelling the mod as "Warcraft IV: Starcraft II" or Wc4:Sc2. The name 'Warcraft IV: The Legacy of the Damned' is merely a pet name/lore name.
But thanks once again for the warning, it was polite and well thought out! +1
EDIT: If it comes to it, we will be more than happy to change it's name on Blizzard's behalf ;)"
As for the orc, yes it is low poly, this is merely the base for many models to follow - our modeller has left a good chunk of poly allowance for armour/weapons and detail on further versions of the model.
Also remember that this is an RTS, not an FPS, the model poly counts are considerably lower, neither is the Orc properly textured yet.
Thanks for the feedback though!
- The WC4DT
the middle could have gone better, perhaps with a strong chorus and some drums for a dramatic feel
