here is a better summary of the game:

THE COMMANDER is a game that is going to be incorporating aspects from several different game genres and combine them all into one game:
First Person Shooter, Real time Strategy and Flight simulator.

The aim of this game is to put the player in the role of a high echelon Military Commander that will be in charge of planning operations and deploying forces based on what is currently tasked to them as high priority. The Player will be thrust into a game where they have to make decisions for troop deployments, Intelligence Gathering, Special Operations Missions and Strike Fighter Missions.

The player will not only have control of the operational planning but will also have control of the units they deploy and have a chance to fill the role of 3 different unit types:
Spec ops Operator
Fighter Pilot
Infantrymen

Every Decision the player makes will have a direct effect on the outcome of the mission. If a certain part of the planning is not fulfilled (say for example the special forces team you have deployed gets captured while doing recon on a target that you as the commander has set as a target that needs to be identified for strike pilots) Then the consequences and the probability of the mission succeeding or failing becomes drastically lower than before that part of the mission was failed.

good points you both bring up so i will be deleting link. But then testers will not be able to test the mod beause they cannot find it.

Go into the mod's page and click on WORLD WAR SPACE DEV GROUP. Then once your there go to the downloads section of the developer's group page and you will see it there.

the mod has been released in closed alpha please check the developer page downloads within the next couple of days.

Thanks for the spirit, its certainly something that i havent see in a while. Um as far as the release date goes im going to be putting a closed alpha on the dev site so if you wish to apply as a playtester you may do so.

I use Maya2014 as my modeling program to make all these models.

New update:
So far I have gotten through most of the pre-alpha release errors I was getting whenever I was trying to load the mod but one problem still remains and I have tried to fix it. I am working as hard as I can to make this mod load so that I can release it as a closed alpha.

There are play tester positions available. Just send me a private message with your skills and why you wanna be a playtester for our mod.

Also you must submit one too two paragraphs on why you would make a good play tester for the team.

By the end of this week. If not by the end of next hopefully. Also to clarify on this, the alpha will only be released to play testers that are a part of the dev group.

Attention all watchers

as of now i am opening play tester spots on the team. I will be uploading the .big version of the file for our playtester group. Be aware that this is the first dev release and will have problems. if you have any issues please notify me and i will immediately try and rectify them.

I am currently in the process of putting the ship files and .hod files together so that i can package the .big file and release as an alpha to playtesters. keep an eye on the job page for a playtester application.

Well i was gonna use 4 major countries which are:
USA
UNITED KINGDOM
RUSSIA
FRANCE

and their names are gonna be changed around so they would be named something like:
Unified North America
The New European Union
People's Republic of Russia
United France

I urge everyone to check out the concept units i have done so far and let me know what you think. comment, make suggestions, etc. It will help me be better in making units for this mod.

As I am working on my own and am currently a community college student studying computer science, I may not have as much time for updates, so that is why i am asking for any other modders that are free and arent doing any other mods if they can help me out. If anyone can fill in thee positions it would be greatly appreciated:

Texture Artists (for the 3-d models i make)
Map Makers
Voice-Overs
Scripters.
