Heya! I'm the 3D artist and Unreal programmer for Equestrian Terrors! I'm also the character artist for the Half-life 2 mod "The Flood: Shadows of a Dark Past".
Be sure ya check out both projects, cause we're going to make 'em great!
We're working really hard to meet the deadline, but it's starting to seem pretty ambitious. We've gotten so much done in these past 3 weeks that I can safely say no later than mid-November, but I'd rather not be a GabeN if I don't need to be, as lovable as he is.
We'll keep workin' away at it, and I can't wait to see your play-throughs!
Hahaha yeah, sorry about the wait. Thanks for sticking with us! You won't be disappointed~
Also we've got a new website set up. If you register you might get early access as a beta tester!
Yeah, that'd probably be a good idea. Might as well put in as many places as possible.
Yes. Also some time in October, I promise. It's about time I push this first episode out. I've done way too much on this already to let it sit around as much as it has.
I've got tons of ideas for the next episode too.
Thanks for staying with us!
Hahaha most of it seems very do-able. It all just comes down to time I suppose.
Talk to ya soon, man.
Nice job on that last song by the way~
Hopefully I'll catch ya on Steam one of these days, eh?
Free of charge, my good sir! There will never be any plans to make this game cost money, I promise you that.
Glad you're lookin' forward to the release as much as we are!
They weren't before, I just changed them and reuploaded the image when you weren't looking xD
Hahaha Oh yes.
I don't know what you mean! The eyes ARE darker!
I would never change it when you weren't looking. What kind of person would I be if I did that?
Et tu, Oshii?
Speaking of feedback, add me on steam, man!
I'm still with ya when you need me. Can't wait to see what you've been workin' on!
@Sleufoot Yeah, I've been thinking you're probably right. We'll go ahead and do something like that as an extra precaution. We'll talk about it a bit later.
But trust us when we say they'll still be recognizable. We're not talking OC status here, but you should probably expect some small silly changes.
As for licensing, for UDK if it was free you could distribute it however you wanted with no license, but it's a bit different for Unreal 4. I paid the $19 to get early access, but I only really skimmed the license agreement. My understanding is that you can make whatever you want and you just pay royalties if you sell the product, which we're not going to do anyway.
If that changes, I don't mind paying the $99 for an indie license, I've got the money. Even in that case I would still make the game free. Basically we're not going to have any Unreal licensing issues.
Haha nothing it was a stupid Smite reference.
And thank you!

Well, yeah, you know, I'm probably along the lines of what Bastet was before the last update. Not a good god at all. I'll let you know when I've reached Kali status though.
But better 3D ponies is exactly what I'm going to aim for, nonetheless, I can tell ya that much.
Also this picture has nothing to do with anything.
First off, thank you, yes I know, I am a 3d GOD!
Sure, I'll darken her eyes a bit. I meant to make 'em purple but you're right they are too pink in the middle. I'll look into those eyelashes too, I just kinda copied them over from the Pinkie model.
Funny story about that, I was actually hoping to use this one for both, but really that's a dumb idea. It'd be a nightmare trying to get it to look right both ways, and animating it that way would be just as bad, so I'll shorten up her arms and make this one the bipedal model and make a quadruped one later. Not to mention with arms that long it just looks bad.
Also to be honest I really don't like the Source engine models, otherwise I'd be copying the hell out of their style. I don't like the way their faces just kinda become their noses. It looks strange. There's gotta be a better way.
Thanks for your input! Stick with us, eh?
In all seriousness, I'm workin' on it. I'll keep ya guys updated.
Thanks for your support!
Awright, I've probably just been staring at the model too long. I'll have the new one up soon. Thanks for your input!
Et tu, Oshii?
Oh nooooo! My dreams are crushed!
Alright, I'll consult my advisors and rework it.
Thank you! We definitely will!
Hahaha Yeah, I think I'm having more fun messing with Unreal 4 than I have in the 15 minutes I've played of ESO since I got it, but eh, it's still a good excuse to take a break and spend some time with Switch-A-Switch for a change. Smite too.
Love the art style! I know I'd definitely throw my money at this!
Can't wait to see more from ya!
Hahaha and I'm glad you're looking forward to it!
We're workin' away at it, so stay with us!
Haha yeah, gotta step it up.
Hahaha thank you!
You won't be disappointed!
Thanks, man! Lookin' forward to seeing more from you too!
Re-painted the eyes, re-shaped the nose a bit, textured the horn and tail, added her cutie mark.
The texture IS a little bit brighter overall, but that ambient lighting is really what's washing out the texture so much. Just wait for that in-game shot. It'll look good, I promise.
Oh, and I'm planning to touch up the hair a bit. Thems stripes are kinda crooked.
Huh. Didn't see that coming.
The new custom hoof sounds are awesome! VGparastar1, you rock!
These would be really useful for Equestrian Terrors too.
Hahaha that was fast. Yeah, this chapter takes place right after "Feeling Pinkie Keen", so it's a bit early on in the series.
And yup! That's the plan! Magic will be used for getting away, making barricades, accessing hiding places, puzzles, etc.
Thanks for your support!
Lookin' forward to seeing more from you too!
It's just a show, man. When it's done you should really give the game a try anyway. Just pretend the monster chasing you is a pink donkey or something.
Eeeeh, you sure crowd-funding is a good idea for your very first game? I don't think I'd be able to withstand that kind of pressure of owing all the people who donated a polished complete product, especially if I were in your shoes and I didn't have many skills just yet.
Don't get me wrong, I mean I'm working on my project all alone too, but even now when I've already been a part of other projects and I know what the hell I'm doing I'm still not comfortable with the idea of crowd-funding a project I'm doing by myself. Maybe you ought to hold off on the funding til a bit later in development or something, otherwise you'll end up being another one of those horror stories of people tracking you down, sending you scary e-mails and what not because you took their money and didn't have the ability to follow through.
You gotta start somewhere. And really, all he needs to do is throw in some props. He posted the progress he's made so people know it's not dead.
Oh, but that skybox seems a bit boring to me. Haven't seen such a plain skybox since Quake 1. We're usin' the source engine, so we can probably find a really pretty one to replace that no problem, eh?
Sure, no problem!
Hahaha why thank you, handsome stranger!
Thanks! It really means a lot!
It still looks a bit more empty than I'd like. I've gotta add a couple more props to liven it up a bit, but this is probably how it's going to appear in the trailer.
Oh, and that mirror really reflects stuff. It's pretty neat.
Thanks! I'm hoping the final design will do just that. We'll be having some serious progress soon, as I'm pretty sure the other team member is almost done with his side project.
Very nice! Your team modeled this right? Looks amazing! I'm so jealous!
Hahaha If we end up using this design, I'm going to resculpt the heck out of that ribcage.
The hair doesn't cast a shadow. That's totally on purpose, I swear.
