GoldSrc may not the best engine out there, but it's the one I'm sticking with. Most of my modding experience only applies to this engine (and in some cases the quake engines and source). I really can't be arsed learning other engines.
It IS dead! If you even checked that page for it's author you'd find it's NOT by the (basically deceased) HL Improvement Team.
Heart of Evil: Source. It's been done.
Well it's more of a port with some enhancements but it's better than Napalm IMO. Hell I don't mind that it's not in HD, it's more preserving of the original's feel that way (though that's just the purist in me). The gameplay makes up for lack of visual updates for what it's worth.
We don't need another remake. Just enjoy what we've got.
Just cut and paste the entire Half-Life folder from your USERNAME folder into Commons. It's worked for me.
