Ah gotcha. Well that makes sense. I'd keep a close eye on how all this is resolved as well as what CBS/Paramount decides about fan made content. There may be an opportunity for you to make some money off all this at some point. Even if its just a Patreon account.

Step 1. Be the Klingons
Step 2. Rush Kurn as first Capital ship.
Step 3. Pay to upgrade Kurn's "Warp in battle group ability"
Step 4. Level Kurn up a few more times taking nearby planets
Step 5. Call in Battle Groups, and at level 5or6 Deathrite Cruisers and K'vek's start showing up.
Step 6. Totally overwhelm the Borg with hundreds of Klingon ships within the first 30 minutes.
Step 7. Challenge Gowron for leadership of the Klingon High Counsel.

Step 1. Be the Romulans.
Step 2. Build a few Buzzard class ships
Step 3. Choose their Siege ability
Step 4. Laugh as they 5 shot the Cubes.
Step 5. Celebrate saving the Roumulan Star Empire against the Borg with all the sexy Romulan women you'll get.

I have to agree with him. Some friends and I spent a few hours the other day taking turns trying to take out our other friends maxed Romulan fleet. I'm being completely serious when I say none of us were able to take out more than 1-2 capital ships with our entire maxed out and fully upgraded Dominion and Federation fleets. I even sent 40-50 maxed Galors in and couldn't manage a single capital ship kill. I think it may have something to do with the Falcon-class ships. Their Armor reduction ability stacks. My Galors were at -5 armor ratings at times. I was going to address on the Reddit page, but since its been brought up I'll just drop it here. :)

That's what we usually play on when we 1v1 or 2v2. But even on small you can still build a fairly large fleet all things considered (hundred or so ships and a dozen plus capitals). Its more noticeable on the Tiny/Small maps with 15-30 planets.

Where this game truly shines in 1v1 and 2v2 is fewer capital ships with auto-cast abilities turned off. Then it becomes a game of using intelligence and Micro to defeat your opponent. Plus it puts WAAAY more emphasis on which ships you research and when.

Tiny Fleets for Tiny Maps!! Plus it adds the struggle of managing your ships' location vs. strategic attacks. Also, much more fun in 1v1 and "AI is dead kill all your friends" time. Smaller fleet capital ship battles are the best. Especially when you put all your skill points into Poleron Torpedo.

I have 200+ hours into Armada 3. Almost all of which has been with 2-5 friends. Tiny Fleet size is something we all wish existed.

This game is so unbelievably-fantastic in its current state that I think you could leave it as is and it would still be seen, not only as a massive accomplishment, but the greatest Star Trek game ever made. That being said, Don't burn yourselves out! Thanks for all the awesome content additions!

Good afternoon fine gents, Absolutely LOVE the game. I've even gotten a half-dozen of my friends to love it as much as me.

Question for you: Would it be possible to include a a "Tiny" Fleet size option? My gents and I feel like on the smaller maps there could be a huge addition to game-play if perhaps each player could only build 3 or 4 capital ships and maybe another 200 or so supply in other ships. The aforementioned would force players to chose their capital ships AND their abilities wisely, as well as add an interesting "micro" dynamic to the game. I mean, I'd love for my Galaxy Class to take my mates Vorcha out because I chose to fire the Photon Torpedo volley at the perfect moment. Don't get me wrong, I can certainly accomplish that now, but at times it can seem lost with so many ships flying around in the average engagement. Anyway, Let me know what you think. Thanks for all you do!
