I've tried installing mono and sdl-mixer but the game does not load. I'm on ubuntu 12.04. What else am I missing?

I downloaded it today and i've been playing all day, it's great, but when I select "crafting database" from the menu the game shuts down, and also some times (a lot) the countdown when i'm collecting something goes back to the start and I have to wait again and I'm not being attacked nor moving.
