Misery includes a file that makes stalker use more than 4GB ram on 64 bit machines already. I have 8GB ram and I've never had a crash or corrupted save because of selling things to traders...

STALKER becomes unstable when you keep too many saves. Next time delete some of the older ones to keep it more stable.

patch 2.01 has been released a long time ago already...

The pda marked backpack is not the same as the quick release system. It is just a pack you can place somewhere and use as a stash. The quick release system has not been implemented yet.

Turn down the SSAO setting it helps a LOT.

I have an important question for you... What do you think the flashlight fix is for? Its not a fix for the "bug" where "L" doesn't turn on your flashlight. At the start of the game you have a handheld flashlight that you use with "O"

The fix has been posted here a lot more than once. And its posted in the misery hints and tips thread and its also been resolved more than once in the bug report thread. Just look and you will find.

Forcing AA in nvidia control panel doesn't work for CoP. Also, dx11 breaks the AA completely so thats why you have jaggies everywhere. And it also has weird shadow bugs. Play the game in dx10 mode with x4 in game AA for the best possible looking game. In nvidia control panel set the AA to application controlled. There will still be some noticeable aliasing, but it is MUCH better than any other option.

The weather thing when loading saves is a bug in the game engine. Vanilla game had this too so there is nothing to be done about it. A tip for stealth is don't save while sneaking near enemies, because they will spot you instantly if you load that save. (Another engine thing...) So if you want to go in sneaking, save when you are at a distance then go sneaking in. Preferably when it is dark and raining. It helps a LOT. And with the knife you need to go for headshots unless you are recon class which ignores armor when attacking with knives.

If you wait until night and there is a big thunder storm going on you can kill people easily without others noticing.

I literally just came here to ask the same thing! I already gave Cardan basic tools and 2 vodka, but the upgrade then shows the "add hints for this upgrade" thing and I have no idea what that means! It can't mean give him more vodka, because 3 will make him pass out...

I ran into a horde of snorks, a burer, the poltergeist and some zombies at iron forest, BUT I went to the lab entrance, found tools under the stairs, and when I came back out they had all spawned again! So I killed them again... Then between the iron forest and the gas station, I **** you not, I ran into a pseudogiant, then 2 more burers!, a pack of bloodsuckers and a pack of dogs. Not all at the same time, but like right after each other... all in that small area. Then I had to deal with the mercs at the gas station because a blowout was starting and I needed to hide in the snork lair. I can't even remember how many times I died during all this. Only in misery...

Jokers mask had +400% psy protection, yes, but it doesn't have much to start with so 400% of so little isn't much more... Try using a proper helmet with the 400% upgrade next time. Also, repairing weapons is fine as it is. You are supposed to use a repair guy to repair a weapon that is slightly damaged and do more serious repairs yourself with repair kits, clots, gun oil and so on.

The flashlight quickfix is for the player holding the handheld flashlight wrong. Handheld flashlight goes in detector slot and uses the detector button "O". The headlamp needs to be bought from beard or owl at skadovsk and required a Universal Power Device (UPD) to function (also bought from beard or owl.) If you have a UPD and headlamp in your inventory just double click the headlamp and it will now work when pressing "L".

Thats what all the repairing items are for. You should repair the items yourself and take care of them then they never get expensive to repair.

lol you shouldn't play this game in dx11 mode... the game looks at its best on dx10 with 2xaa. dx11 breaks the aa completely so it looks ****, but will also run faster. He is probably maxing it out on a **** monitor with smaller resolution so thats why it works better.

Well then your PC must be the problem obviously not the mod. Since it works for everybody else and even on your laptop.

When you start the game you don't have the headlamp that uses the "L" key yet. The flashlight you start with is put in the detector slot and used with "O" key. The fix isn't for this. It's to stop the flashlight pointing at your face when you have it out.
