70 maps may have been a slight exaggeration. Its going to be a fairly long mod. I said 60-70 because is the maximum I plan. Not even HL2 has that many.
I still would like a mapper to help.
There are a lot of mappers around compared to coders and modelers.

I was planning a mini-mod composed of maps that I have made over time (ones that never made the light of day)
The will certainly have to make an adjustable difficulty setting for sniper arena though. (and cure some problems that lag lower level pc's(like mine))
Expect some more quirky maps on the way.
I remember a game called lego racers. it bares a lot of similarities to this one. one thing it had was the ability to power up your power ups into stronger versions. so you could hold off a power up to get a better result. Id like to see that.

my drawings don't do it justice but the mouth is on the underside centered between its 4 armored legs. The front leg does look like its head... :P

Haha I like that idea. Perhaps on the foreman. Still i know what you mean when you say it will be hard to animate. Its probably the most complicated of planned enemies.
The Left hand is detachable and replaceable depending on the job. This machine was a build as a multipurpose miner. That includes defending the mine.
The claws only purpose is to pick up and move chunks of ore, so having a lantern built in would make more sense. Though I always liked the idea of carrying the lantern, it seems more mine-like. We shall see
The Grass will be taller than you. The closed grassland hunters will be found in small clearings. Sometimes Ion (The AI) will notify you on nearby enemies.

Im saving the strider beam bend-space effect for something realy special...
The problem is, placing a light inside a crystal renders the inner-most texture solid. Layering to many textures isnt good for optmisation because there will be alot of crytals in varying sizes. I tried layering low alpha textures before, but the result just looked like a set of semi-transparent textures inside eachother.
I will see how multiple 99% alpha layers work out.

Because its an AI that speak AND its in the half life universe, I don't think I could escape that link between portal. So trying to make it an entirely separate story would be a mistake.

The crystals will probably turned into a custom prop/texture. As they still look like some layered textures.
I know, they didn't turn out quite as liked.
They do look like cardboard cutouts at the moment, though I have been experimenting.
They are 2 layers of low alpha white textures. Unfortunately lighting them seems to make it appear solid.

Somehow all my huds got replaced. For all games. Its not a new hud for the game. Its a pain in the ***.
