Have you come up with a fix for TheGermans mutator weapon swap bug yet? It's a blast to play BiA with your amazing modifications but not being able to play as the Germans without the weapons getting messed up whenever I reload or die is getting annoying!

Great work on this one, Rendroc. The mod's come a long way since I first played Brothers in Arms in the fall of 2010. Have you figured out the infamous "weapon swap" bug yet that I mentioned before in TheGermans mutator? I noticed you mentiond fixing "settings resetting after each checkpoint or mission", but I still get the weapon change from German to US after I die and reload while playing with TheGermans enabled. Do you know what the exact issue is in the coding that causes this to happen? I remember last time I brought this up you mentioned that this is the result of an issue with the game's coding.

Nice work; that should clear up the ridiculously imbalanced tank fights (it's so annoying to have to shoot at angry Germans while my Sherman and their Stug brutally slug it out for five minutes before one or the other finally blows up.) Great idea on your part. By the way, have you ironed out the "weapon swap" bug in TheGermans mutator? It has the potential to make an amazing game even more so, but reloading a checkpoint only to see my German squad now carrying M1s and the Amis packing Mausers completely breaks the experience. I spent an entire night last April from 6 in the afternoon to 6 in the morning rifling through the .ini file for TheGermans, trying to determine what the problem was. I tried editing a few lines related to weapons that I thought would help, but the game crashed to desktop when I attempted to use the mutator after changing one line after the other.

To Rendroc: I mentioned the problem with the K98s and M1s getting flip-flopped when you die or reload a checkpoint early last year. My guess is that the mjcGermans.u file (as that seems to be the file that changes everything to Germans when TheGermans mutator is enabled) has some sort of issue in it that causes the weapon swaps I'm no programming wizard, but I know enough about computers to reckon that ths might be the problem behind the weapon swaps and other problems in the mutator. I might be able to help with fixing the mod. Post here or PM me, whichever you're more comfortable with, if you think I might be able to help, and we can go over this problem and hopefully fix it sometime in the near future.

In Earned in Blood:

I've tried a variety of the levels in both games, and the same results have emerged. No specific checkpoint seems to do it, either; it's just a general problem with the checkpoints. If I had to guess I'd say the cause of the problem might be in one of the mutators. Let's keep going on this: the results will emerge, somewhere in this research. Thanks for all your help, Rendroc.

Great job on this, Rendroc. Your mods keep a great old classic like Brothers in Arms alive for a new generation. I had a bug in the latest additions to the mods that I wanted to point out, though:

Whenever I use "TheGermans" mutator to play as the Germans in singleplayer, and I get killed or even reload a checkpoint without dying by clicking on the "Reload Checkpoint" option in the pause menu, all my guys (the Germans in this case) have M1s and other American weapons, while all the Americans have Mausers (K98s; Mauser makes the K98 rifle, and I personally just call it the "Mauser") all of a sudden! If I simply go back to the main menu and reload another level after putting the mutators back in place, the exact same thing happens. The only way to fix this is to actually quit to desktop and restart the entire game. Obviously, when playing as the Germans and using "CustomLoadouts" with German weapons, my men will have German weapons no matter what, but when I reload a checkpoint for any reason, the Americans still have German weapons. This happens in both RtH30 and EiB with "TheGermans" mutator; it's not restricted to one game. Do you have any ideas why this might be or how to fix it?
