Multiplayer Bots
More Immersive Battle Chatter
Smoke Grenades
More Realistic Physics
Enhanced Special Effects
Full Customization of Weapons
For Singleplayer and Multiplayer
Order your squad to waypoints, assault tanks, acquire panzerfausts, and man MGs. The improved enemy AI will flank and assault; use, return, and dive on grenades; and have better accuracy with panzerfausts. Command over 21 soldiers in your squad, and face three times the enemy. Play against the computer in any multiplayer map. Both US and Germans shout more combat dialogue never heard before in the original game. Order your squad to lay down smoke cover, while the Germans will use it to maneuver against you. Dead bodies crumple to the ground, grenades and rockets travel more realistically. More dust, dirt, leaves, grass, smoke, rock, and blood flying at you and covering the battlefield. Edit damage amounts, firing rates, kickback, and more; plus you can select the loadouts for your squad. All these and even more, including Realistic Sights, Bazooka Jo, Realistic Tracer Fire, and Soundtrack mods.

Whoa, almost a whole year since the last news post. Well, I may have slacked off a little on that, but one thing I haven't stopped is modding one of the most awesome WWII games in history: Brothers in Arms.
Alright, first off, let's take a look at the HollywoodFX mutator and jmoney's Real Gun Sounds in action.
HollywoodFX heightens the excitement, immersion, and utter danger of war. It's in the latest version of Rendroc's WarZone (v4.30 as of this writing). Here's my boring-ass description of it from the ReadMe:
Dead bodies and animals have their own effect when shot; leaves fall from trees; stone shards are thrown from walls; even glass windows shatter. Bullets will seem to pass through thin cover like hay and wooden crates (although this is still only a visual effect). Lots of bullet impacts in the same area will generate a smokey haze.
The biggest difference you will see is the hedgerow, which now emits leaves, grass, and dirt instead of the default pieces of dried wood that Gearbox decided on for some reason.
Tank round explosions have been enhanced as well. Stone impacts throw stone bricks into the air; shells hitting trees and hedges disperse a ton of leaves.
The blood puffs from soldiers getting shot now more closely resemble the "pink mist" effect seen in Saving Private Ryan. They also emit blood if hit by a melee attack. Sometimes you will get some blood on your face from nearby soldiers when they are injured. The shellshock effect is now more prolonged and has a new sound effect.
Finally, something... bad... happens when infantry suffer a direct hit froman explosive shell or rocket.
More effects put the awesomeness of WWII battles directly into your eyes. Your eyes. Goddamn.
But wait, what's that? It's like my ears are being kissed by hundreds of baby angels. Angels with the sweetest-sounding Browning Automatic Rifles.
jmoney took actual recordings of authentic WWII weapons and edited them for your aural pleasure. How many weapons? All of them. That's right, every weapon in Brothers in Arms, including the mortars and tank MGs, have a new realistic sound. Plus some new bullet "whizzing-byes" to make you mess your pants again.
No, I'm not modding Hell's Highway. Sorry if I misled you there. But, I know someone who is: Pooky. Check out updates for his new map on the Gearbox Forums. Plus, he's saying he's going to make some maps for EiB and RtH30, too. Somehow he convinced me to help him out, I think it's because his name is so cute: "Pooky". OK, so if you want to see new maps for EiB/RtH30, sound off on the forums, comrades!
I'm not going to go into this, their inspiration was Kelly's Heroes, you missed the mark. I know Kelly's Heroes. It's a family tradition. It was my inspiration, too, for this, which I posted here on ModDB over a year ago:
I just might get this done someday.

Added "The Germans" Mutator, which is a rough preview of the Wehrmacht Mod for Brothers In Arms. Since so many of you have requested this, I've released...

Patch with new sounds for US tank main guns, FlaK 88s, Flakvierling AA, and PaK 36 anti-tank guns. Requires jmoney's Real Gun Sounds for EiB version 2.0.
Patch with new sounds for the StG44 and a slightly punchier P38. Requires jmoney's Real Gun Sounds for RtH30 v2.0.
Great mod, if you ever resume development could you make a MOHAA weapons sound mod? MOHAA has my favorite sounds for any ww2 game.
Also, is there a way to keep tutorial on while doing the chapter select? Seems like it automatically turns off. Also, for custom loadouts, is there a way to choose not to have any item in a slot instead of either having default or set weapons?
I wish Moddb let you edit your comments at any time, sorry for another post. Could you make the no hud thing allow subtitles? Also, maybe make a version of battlezone and warzone that have none of Big Jack's Mob (just the extra Germans).
Thanks man. jmoney's the sound guy, you'd have to ask him about MOHAA. But I think he prefers to stay with his own sounds. There are other sound mods at BIAFiles.com, maybe they have something you like there.
As for the rest, you have some good suggestions and I'll look into them sometime. Thanks!
Do you know how I can contact jmoney?
You can post on Gearbox's forums Forums.gearboxsoftware.com and see what happens.
Man !!! Thank you so much for making this mod ! looks incredible ^^
I am buying a copy of road to hill 30 right away on steam for this one, already have EIB, but this deserves full playtrough in both games.
I know i already thanked you enough, but thanks again ^^
RtH30 has the most problems with checkpoints; if you PM me exactly where I can try to fix them. If you tell me where they got stuck in the church mission I can try to look at that too. When you say you can't get to the dialogue, you're saying you can't trigger the checkpoint so that they start speaking?
As for the mutator selection, just edit the BrothersInArms\System\CustomMutators.ini file, check the ReadMe for more info. Then you only have to add one mutator, "CustomMutators", when you play the game and it loads all of your favorites.
Alright so the mission that i was forced to restart from the last checkpoint was the "Ambush at exit 4" right on the last part next to the D-day beach where the germans are running from, i finished them off and when there is suppose a squad of friendlis to show up and to shot the rest of the germans nobody came, and i couldnt skip this sequence.
I cant remember the other mission where this also happened.
On the church mission is the road that leads to the "front" of where the church main gate is facing, and then if you follow the road theres a T intersection, if you turn right, theres some bushes, they got stuck behind that. I might be wrong but in my opinion it was because of the "advanced AI" that sometimes makes germans retreat.
And thank you so much for the custom mutators tip it saved me a lot of time :P tell me if theres anything else i can help with.
The best way I can think of to debug something like this is by using cheats. You can look these up on other sites, but if you are using the CommandMod, you can type 'xxxtestcinema' in the Console, then just fly around and look for weird stuff. The most common problem with WarZone is that all of the extra soldiers block each other in some narrow pathway; if you can identify that pathway, I can try to fix it. On the other hand, RtH30 has some scripting problems that might make WarZone fail more often; in these cases, unfortunately, there is no easy fix.
