Who "they" are you talking about? The last I saw from the developers was that the patch was basically finished but testers should try it out. It's ready when it's ready I guess.

I think it is better to go to GSC forum for play problems. Anyway, you need to play in widescreen for the buttons you mentioned to work. If you play 800x600 or something, just change to widescreen when working with safes or repair interface, and back again afterwards.

I succeeded by NOT shooting at the helicopters when I crossed into bar area. The Dutties will then appear not in their usual office, but in a nearby hangar where they will give you the mission to find a RPG and shoot down the choppers. (The door to Bar/Duty will be LOCKED).
(I do not understand how this comment ended up here. I answered to the "bar door problem" :) )
