Hi. Even though it is early in development, I can see that there has been a lot of thought put into planning out the features of this mod. It has great potential. I am an Imperial Guard fanatic from way back, and was involved in a team that created a couple of IG mods for DOW 1.

At some stage, will we be able to use the DKOK DLC with this mod? I miss my IG regiments.

Love the engineers/combat engineers concept. Guardsmen/Conscripts need backpacks. Sergeants need weapons upgrades. PDF guard would be nice (with autoguns). More choices of win conditions would also be nice. Love the increased pop cap. Lots of ideas....for IG.

I have looked around your discord channel. Never used discord before...have no clue how to use it. Do I have to sign up...is there a chats area...how do I find it?

Thanks for the reply Timosh_CW. It has been quite a while since I last unzipped multi part files. I needed reminding of the process. I was unzipping both parts separately, into the same file, and overwriting part 1 with part 2.

All sorted now. Thanks for the reminder. The CW mod is excellent. Since my return to gaming, I have been playing the COH MC mod for a while, But was looking for something with a more realistic tactical control, in modern warfare. MOWAS 2, and the CW mod have provided that.
Keep up the great work, it is very much appreciated.

Hi,

I have recently returned to MOWAS2 and the Cold War mod, after several years of not playing. I have MOWAS2 on steam.
I downloaded the latest update (1.7.4 full version - parts 1 & 2, plus English language localization hotfix). I assume that, when unzipping you overwrite the unzipped part 1 with part 2. When I did that, at completion I got an error message saying that the file failed to unpack (CRC failed : cold war 1_7_4\resource\texture\common\model\vtp_btr_nato.pak).
I carried out the whole process (including downloading the hotfixes) 3 times. Each time getting the same message. thinking that it may be an issue with my download, I re-downloaded part 2, and went through the process again. With the same result. When I run the mod ingame, the game crashes. Is this an issue that anyone else has encountered?

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Great idea!!!
There should be more alternate history, and 'what if' mods.
What if World War 2 didn't end in 1945, and the pace of weapons development increased significantly? And what if some major nations changed sides....
There are a whole lot of 'what if' scenarios that could be explored.

I don't want to cause any negative discussion, but until yesterday, I had not seen any of those Ork screenshots on this site (and I ckeck the site every day).
And I noticed that those Ork screenshots that were put up, had an "added date" of 26 January.
Just to clarify things, I call anything new on the site an update, including new screenshots.

Anyway, they look fantastic - excellent work!!
Now for more IG !!!

Great work! - following my previous post (above), the Ork screenshots have appeared. My guess is, there was a possible mis-match in time, between the mod page being updated - and the screenshots actually appearing.

I am a big fan of this mod - and W40 in general....but....when you update this page, please put something new on it that we can at least find without having to use a magnifying glass to find it.
Perhaps put a little note, at the top of the page, to indicate what has been added in the update.

Lesson learned (again) - always look at the screenshots first.
I've seen the PBR and FSB screenshots- they look grear, with lots of detail!
This is obviously going to be a quality mod!

We have needed a comprehensive Vietnam mod for MOWAS 2/CTA for a very long time. Along with some decent Vietnam era maps (fire support base etc.), and bunkers/fortifications.
Can we expect to see the various armament configurations of the Cadillac Gage Commando and M-113 vehicles?
.....Riverine patrol boats?

I have been waiting a very long time to see a truly authentic looking U.S M113 ACAV, in CTA/MOWAS 2.
Loce the Commando and M-48 as well!
Will we see an M-551 Sheridan as well?
.....and M-60 tripod mounted MMG's?

Update - It seems that I had actually downloaded the full mod. The Salamanders, turrets, etc were sitting in a seperate, and not easily recognised folder.
However, the IG Sentinels still do not walk or run. They move, but their legs do not move in the process. They simply glide across the terrain.

Hi,

I am subscribed to the mod in the Steam Workshop, and believe my Steam client has downloaded a new version (because it contains an SM Whirlwind, and Land Raider Whirlwind - among other things). But there is no Salamanders, or heavy turrets - among other things. Interestingly, the download stopped at 2.1 gig of 2.7 gig, last night. Do I have the new release version? Or do I only have a partially downloaded new version?

You're right. The Gorgon goes with the DKOK. But the Crassus assault transport, along with its Praetor heavy assault launcher version, would be complimentary to all the other IG regiments.
Besides I kind of like the idea that I am only risking 35 soldiers - instead of 50 - if the vehicle is taken out. And besides, the Crassus has overhead protection, and looks mighty fearsome as well!

A Thunderer, and Laser Destroyer, would be great as well. However, the Manticore is already in the mod.

Are the Sentinels able to walk in the new version? The youtube video shows them walking/running, but they certainly don't in the version I have.

Leman Russ turret emplacements?
Sabre, manticore, earthshaker, platforms?
Chimedon and Chimerro?
Hunter/killer missiles for tracked and wheeled vehicles?
Infantry riding on the tops of armored vehicles, like the base game has?

Is anyone doing different colour options for uniforms and vehicles? Having a variety of texture choices, in the unit skin files, is an excellent feature!
For my own use, I have already created several different uniform colour options, using the textures for the Steel Legion and Cadians from the Chaos Rising mod, and the Cadians from this mod. My veteran Cadians, from this mod, are now wearing "thunder camo" to convert them to Kasrkins. Although I can't add a Kasrkin rebreather by modifying the textures. My new uniform textures are not what I would call professional - but good enough to satisfy me (for my own use).

The helmets are in the colour of the DKOK 19th Siege Regiment.
Armoured regiment squadrons were quite often parcelled out to support infantry regiment units. So Tallarn tanks could be seen supporting Guard units from other planets.
That's the beauty of the IG - they share their good things!

Do you plan on adding mortar heavy weapons teams for the IG? In particular, the Elysian drop troops revolving cylinder mortar.

Will you add towed artillery (like the Thudd gun), and Leman Russ turret emplacements?
