Yes, it is possible to make such zones, actually. I'm not sure about the covers that can show the infantry, but at least we are going ot add some bunkers and other kind of covers.
And we are planing infantry only maps and infantry only zones on the others, especially in city maps
Our idea is the main operation unit to be the platoon, as it's the perfect size for most of the tasks where you will need regular infantry. And this leaves open space for the special squads. They will be lost in the crowd if they are part of a company and won't be used efectivly, as they are not for a mass firefight like the regular clones. E.g. the sniper team. The spotter can reveal the map at the end of the sniper's range of fire, about twice the view range of that unit, and about twice of the fire and view ranges of all other infantry units. So it's a huge advantage on enemy units, even heroes. But you have to controll it, so in a mass group, you can't use the sniper different that line infantry and this is pointless
The idea of having a full company in the current battle is that you don't need more than 1, max 2 of them, all you need is support squads and vehicles. And the company will take a lot of unit limit and will cost enough so the player can't spam them in single battle.
Currently the company lands in about 4 minutes real time, I know it's a lot but I have some ideas how to reduce the landing time. It won't be left that much.
Every rank higher than captain will be separate unit, not part of a formation.
We haven't decided yet if Rex will be separate unit or the captain of the Torrent company
It won't lag, unless your computer is prehistoric. I haven't experienced lag on my computer even with a full battalion (576 individual units) landed and I already had other units on the map.
Try other mods with individual units and you'll see

We will follow TCW seasons as a time line for tech levels and there will be 5 tech levels only. If you want to help, correct the time line and lets continue the discussion in PM
I see no reason for adding new tech level. We won't add to the mod anything related to the Empire, stormtroopers and etc.
Color ranking system will be for tech level 1. Custom colors for the battalions will be at tech 2 for seniors and tech 3 and after color for all units.
Yes, we already though about that. We are planning to add new buildings and to distribute all units around the planets and buildings :)

Guys, please, you can't blame anyone without evidence.
His email was hacked and through it, his ModDB account. And when his account was banned, the attacker was impudent enough to a sent an email to the admins and to want a reactivation.
We haven't lost any data, as our job is secure and away from ModDB and we have made some steps to keep our work safe from harm or technical failure :)
