Description

Slowly starting to build up a battlegroup of these guys, so far it's been amazing practise. Gonna try do a couple of smaller craft and maby another type of frigate, then try building all the practise up into doing a carrier 1.5x bigger than the Vanguard.

The Ajax is a frigate which mainly acts as a support ship, it's main armament is a large payload of missiles and torpedos, with virtually no direct fire capability save for a couple of light flak cannons and the standard laser based point defenses all IFS ships come with.

The major difference between destroyers and frigates is that most ISF destroyers are designed as direct combatants, with large, heavily armoured hulls and banks of cannons, while frigates typically serve as screening ships for fleets, transports and support platforms, their small hulls making them poor candidates to face up to direct fire cannons.
