An updated build has been pushed out, the alt fire mode for toggling has been fixed by hyperexia. The ADS hold is still a bit wonky, but ADS toggle works perfectly for all the altfires!

Fixed a bug of clashing sprites with one of the death animation sprites of pump shotgun zombie. Apparently my retarded *** did not debugged this mod enough >:[

Also, i would like to notify y'all that not only this mod works with vanilla Brutal Doom v21 and Brutal Doom Platinum v3.0, but ALSO it works just fine with

✅Tomtefar's extension

✅Dox brutal doom

✅Bloodwolf's brutal doom

It may or may not work with some other forks that i'm honestly not using, but you know, try it and see for yourselves! Rule of the thumb is - as long as the mod does not make any changes to cacodemon's spawner or doesn't add any new monster variants that can randomly replace cacodemons, then this mod should work just fine.

As long as Brutal Doom forks do not contain any new additions or changes for cacodemon spawner, THEORETICALLY this mod should work with pretty much everything.

Although this mod is intended for vanilla, unmodded brutal doom v21, feel free to test it with other brutal doom forks, especially the minimalistic ones such as dox brutal doom or bloodwolf's brutal doom!

The script of cats freezer actor clashes with this mod. You have two solutions for the problem:
1. Get rid of cats freezer and use only this mod.
2. Get rid of this mod and use only cats freezer.
Can't keep both, otherwise you'll have this serious bug with disappearing plasma.

Question, are you also using Cats Freezer as well?

The weapon is powerful, however, it's supposed to be this way, because the weapon is quite difficult to find under normal circumstances, without resorting to cheats. Cuz its replacement chance for plasma gun is 20 %. Basically the weapon is balanced around its rarity. So, consider this weapon a lucky find. Also, please take note that this weapon consumes quite high amounts of plasma ammo, so for the amount that it needs its damage output is in reasonable range.

Yes, you will have to manually tweak brutal doom platinum's BFG replacer script and insert the BHGen actor in the replacer's script, but this will require your personal effort and some scripting knowledge. And since BD Platinum keeps getting constantly updated with new stuff, there might be possible incompatibility problems if i'd push out a compatibility build for BD platinum and it becomes outdated/incompatible with a new version of BD platinum, so, i don't think i'm going to do one. For the sole reason that BD platinum keeps getting updated every few months, and i don't intend to keep this mod up to date with another person's WIP project.

TLDR: you'll have to do it yourself, ask around for people's assistance in brutal doom discord server or zdoom discord server. simple as. 👍

You... clearly don't understand the purpose of this weapon. It's an economical, low cost (in terms of rocket ammunition consumption) crowd control weapon, especially the drill attack is capable of wiping a crowd of small enemies in one or two shots, which will cost you only few rockets to kill them all. Same thing goes for dropped charge, you are placing mines that cost you rocket ammo. The weapon works best in tight corridors or heavily populated areas that contain dozens of demons standing in a crowd. Considering the battle is happening in a corridor, rocket launcher will require you six or more shots to kill 20 small demons such as imps, zombiemen and pinkies, however excavator will get the job done in only few shots from the drill, since one drill shot inflicts damage to many demons at once.

So you took an already good weapon and made it even better... awesome

I do like a higher versatility of firing modes.

Well yes, i am fully aware that there are several M2 plasma rifles already available in BD modbb, but those are ports of older assets from PB 2.3 . PB 3.0 has all new assets for the weapon. Could you do the PB 3.0 M2 plasma rifle? Thanks rampageguy! :)
