Not sure it's a day-one purchase. The level design is awkward at best, and this sort of game lives and dies by its maps.
The battery system is confusing, and the new titan abilities so far have been a bit hit-or-miss. Scorch is fantastic, Ion is a tad naff.
Execution animations that take more time than standard melees only work in games where standard melees aren't always instant kills.
The HUD is a total mess, and the third-person animations are annoying. Executions take 10x longer than a standard fatal melee attack.
Titanfall 2 is a visually stunning affair, considering that this is based on the Source Engine on a low level.

I'm hoping most of these can be ironed out before launch though.
Titanfall 2 certainly grew on me, but I will not ignore the major design problems, many of which weren't present in the original.
