3D generalist. Also gaming and modding some in my spare time.
The chainlink fence was used a lot in the campaign missions.
It may not be my design, but I would recognize my own work anywhere. I don't really mind, I'm just a little bit surprised.
You'll be able to download and play it through the StarCraft 2 Arcade just like any other custom SC2 map. Easy as that.
Well, the fact that I cannot change the cursor texture during gameplay is still annoying as ever. But apart from that, I haven't encountered any problems I couldn't work around.
Not at all. This game menu is the first thing that will pop up when a Red Alert: Origins multiplayer scenario is loaded. That means the menu is inside the map and the menu background will display the actual map terrain.
Yeah, I will eventually switch from instant to projectile-based attacks. That will not only make the attacks dodge-able by moving units, but also make it theoretically possible for tanks to hit concrete walls standing in the way.
Yes, but that would set the highlight cursor for that unit for all players. I need to change both the normal and highlight cursor for a single player only, which is not currently possible.
No, you can not actually. The catalog function cannot reach the cursor data. This is what I hope Blizzard will fix in a patch or expansion. That, or giving us a native function to handle it.
Thanks though. :)
I'm armed to the teeth with the Aftermath rules.ini, mplayer.ini, the original manual and the game itself. That should really be enough reference material. ;)
The damage system has been in for quite a while.
It's the Hell March 1 remix by From First to Last. It's on the Red Alert 3 soundtrack. 'Tis much win.
Not really. I have plans of creating some singleplayer maps as well. Just need to get the multiplayer working first.
Because Red Alert is and will always be my favorite Command & Conquer game. Also, it's smaller than RA2 and TS and I don't feel like starting something I can't complete.
Yes. Red Alert: Origins will include the expansion units.
This is in fact on ultra settings, but as I wrote in the description they're all missing shaders and textures. Hence the bland clay-ish look.
When it's done.
Can't really give any more details around the release date as I don't really know myself.
Could take all from a couple of weeks to a few months to get out a playable beta version. That is, if I decide to release a open beta.
Oh yeah, and very much so. I anticipate the entire mod to be around 6-8mb when it's done.
I'm more worried about Starcraft 2's script limitations honestly. But if I'm careful with arrays and optimizes everything, there shouldn't be any problem.
I'm considering it.
Thank you, so do I. ;)
Thank you all. :)
Unless there's more game-breaking bugs hidden in the map, 1.0.6 is the last and final version of Mass Destruction.
However, I recently started developing Mass Destruction 2 for Starcraft 2. It's actually pretty nice looking already.
It does. It will kick in if a team is without players.
The AI is very basic at the moment though.
It's because of the new Warcraft patch. A update is awaiting authorization.
Yeah, pretty much.
The video demonstrates the fading fog system... -_-
I'm sorry, but The Frozen Throne offers superior mapping capabilities over Reign of Chaos. This map would not be possible within RoC.
For general mapping, you'll need the Warcraft III World Editor (Comes with the warcraft III RoC/TFT CD). It allows you to change almost every aspect of the game. I also recommend downloading the newest JASS NewGen World Editor (3rd party tool) from www.Wc3Campaigns.net.
For modeling, 3D Studio Max 4/5 with the Blizzard Art Tools is highly recommended. The Art Tools is a plug-in for 3DSMax 4/5, allowing you to easily export scenes into warcraft's model format.
For texturing, you could use any tools capable of saving images in TGA format.
It's not released yet. The "Pre-alpha" map contains nearly nothing.
Sniper units will be featured, yes.
It said it were cut of at 89%, but it seems that the entire video is working as it should ☺
Tried to re-upload it, but it got cut of in the upload process. Better downloading it from the link above..
Something was messed up upon the upload of this video, and it starts to go too fast at 01:50.
Yes. A scripted computer AI will be added to the map. This will greatly increase the singleplayer experience.
