I fear EaW doesnt have the best game engine/code ever, sadly I couldnt tell as Im not a programmer or something of that sort ... I will look if I cant figure out a solution with my limited knowledge nonetheless, not including your projectiles would be a waste.
So some of the new projectiles are responsible? thats a shame, I think they are gorgeous ...

I have combined EaW RE with a Galactic map mod, I think it was Ultimate Galactic Conquest. I basically just copied all Campaign files, scripts and Art from UGC to your mod, everything that determines the galactic map really, since EaW RE is pretty much focused on Ships and look. Works like a charm so far, only problem really is that as a result the MasterText file is a mess, and Im currently trying to get the Shipnames etc back in. No crashes so far though.
Btw, I really like what you managed to do with good old EaW, it does look amazing when the space battles go wild. The effects, models and sounds are spot on. Wished I had this mod back in 2009/10 ^^
