Yea, it's dead unless Isotx has plans for it I don't know of.
Hmmm, well not like we're going to use the story elsewhere...so some of the info. The 1st crusade mission was related to the Ark of the Covenant (and the final mission would've too). The black IDF flags were mourning, for the whole nation since until the UN moved in they nearly entirely lost the war. The UN's role was to prevent a new Holocaust. It also would've been to bring an IDF General in line (early on we debated, them launching nukes...including one at Mecca). We would've had a mission where the new GOI president was assassinated, Kennedy-style. Oh and the campaign ended with the sound of bells, hinting that it was the start of the Apocalypse.
It would've been very different from what most expected, and infinitely too insensitive so in a way I'm glad we didn't make it.
Can't really help much there, no clue what causes that crash some people get. Most issues like that tend to be solved by never playing vs random AI, and making sure you're using our maps.
The Blackhawk is what IDF infantry (and I think some drones? I forget) can call in for transport. The Apache was cut from the mod and replaced with the Gideon.
Are you playing on our maps? AI should work fine there.
I'm not sure what causes the issue, in the past we had that happen if AI was set to random...I'd try changing AI types, and be sure to only use MEC2 maps.
Sorry, but there are no plans for a MEC2 update. One like you said also would be...a lot more work than you think.
The comanche was never intended to use its MG, it was always meant to be missiles only. The Abrams's MG was meant to be a building-clearing grenade launcher...but that was too strong. We should've removed them from the models.
VS the GOI as the UN I'd highly suggest you get some upgraded Alpha Strike, in garrisons or jeeps. Using walls to funnel the infantry can help some too.
I have no idea then, wish I could be of more help.
So long as you're all patched up (with cnc3 fully) and have the same mec2 version it should work fine. I don't know why you'd have that issue...maybe try using hamachi instead of cnc3 online if that may be the issue?
Thanks for this, hopefully this helps people out.
We tried to include a couple big maps (personally I usually used pestilence), but yes it's exactly as Quadhelix said. We don't use tiberium nodes, we need to manually place our objects on the map and there is no way to do that via game code. Maybe if it was for Starcraft 2, or a much more flexible engine...but not C&C3.
Are you playing on MEC2 maps? The mod (and AI) really doesn't work on other maps than ours.
The issue isn't on our end, it's for people who have the Steam version (which messes up directory placement needed for mods sometimes) and Origin (which hates mods entirely).
I get pm'd enough it's worth having this up..and thanks! :)
Mix of pro's and amateurs. An example; for the german accented units, we got EA germany to slip in some recordings during a recording session. ;)
thanks, I just edited that...and that bug was fixed I believe
play on mec2 maps, and you see the bright red flashing 'WATCH THIS' video in the skirmish menu? that might help
hm? the moddb link worked just fine for me when I tested it now...
Even if we were doing updates I'm unsure how much better we could make the AI. CNC3's AI really hates our resource system, so just getting it working /at all/ was luck.
Kalga had said he got it working this way;
"Replace the C&C Orign lancher with the original C&C 3 lancher, then install MEC2 to the correct directory path [not sure what the correct term is do forgive me]. It should work after that...
All thanks goes to the good people over at Xenoforce reborn."
Keep in mind, I haven't tested it buuut Bibber knows his stuff so if I had issues I'd trust him.
Also, I'm very surprised to see people still buying C&C3, let alone from Origin.
No patches or updates are planned for MEC2.
Not that I know of.
Yup, this is correct. Thanks for helping him out. :)
I don't see why not, it may take some directory tweaks like steam does sometime though.
I'd suggest looking up how Origin handles CNC3 mods as a whole
Was the technical support FAQ helpful at all?
The website had pretty much all what you asked on it...but it's down now and I have no idea if Isotx will fix it or not.
Hopefully the tooltips ingame, and the mini explanation vid in the skirmish menu are some help.
Thanks for catching it, will mail isotx about it.
No, MEC2 is just for CNC3...I don't actually know if its that possible to even mod CNC4.
We planned it at one point...but due to time needed for documentation (we used a good deal of scripts), and isotx's requests (it having some installer with legal disclaimer) and seeming lack of interest...we skipped it.
