been studying that 2-3 years ago (hate geometry). Well the X and Y are idk how it in English but in Russian they are "Накрест лежащие углы" "crosswise lying corners" (or someh like that)...

Ok lemme try to give you main idea... as I'm studying it in Russian, not English so that would be difficult a bit to lol...

Look on this picture and read:
Easycaptures.com

NOTE:
I used my own translation so don't really think that all right, plus I'm not sure is that what you need. Use at ur own risk!

-Theorem:
If 2 parallel lines are crossed with 3rd one, then the inside "crosswise lying corners" (or someh like that) are same to each other.

-The Proof:
Let there are parallel straight lines a and b which are crossed by a straight line c. The straight line crosses line a on point A and a straight line b crosses it on point B. We build a straight line a1 through point A so, a1 and b with secant would have formed equal internal crosswise lying corners.
On the basis of the straight line parallelism, straight lines a1 and b are parallel to each other. And so as it is possible to build only one straigt line through point A and make it parallel b , then a and a1 are same. That means, that the internal crosswise lying corners formed by a straight line an and b, are equal.
