It's just like the police daring you to speed. Overkill perhaps, although I have to admit that the Leopard 2 MBT is quite a good deterrent though.

Yeah, I think I was half asleep when I wrote that. What I am trying to say is that Canada has way more tanks than Australia and that Australia needs more tanks.

True, but it's not like Australia is going to go out and invade another country...maybe New Zealand. :P
4 C-17s isn't quite enough...maybe 8. Yes, the RAAF is quite small, but well equipped.
Not to mention Egypt has like 1k+ M1 tanks
and they're ambitious about attaching an M1 Turret onto their 1.6K+ M60 tanks
