Had the same problem, tried to install xvid and unpack the video and play it manually, nothing of that worked for me, but i found out that you have to make sure the standard windows mediaplayer is the chosen player for the video file, if using VLC or any codex pack, it usually changes it to mediaplayer classic, and that wont work. in short: install the Xvid codex, unpack the DB files, right click the video file, and make sure the standard player is windows mediaplayer. Worked for me atleast :)
