Hello laz,
Just checked ModDB and saw you were interested in chatting with me. You can get me on MSN at Jeremy@insurgencymod.net or on IRC on the GameSurge network in #insurgency.
Thanks,
Jeremy
We will not release anything noticably rushed, do not fear.
it looks good, but I think it can look a lot better. try to make him look exactly like on the cover cept a lot less polys :P
"this mod cannot be 20% done!"
or can it? :P
lol @ the plug :P
Yea RO is still around, and yea, those of us who experienced working on it have learned a lot that will insure INS to be something great.
this man, if he can be called that, is the biggest newbie ever to exist on the planet of the internet.
Bring it on :)
" Ok i dont mean to sound ignorant, but the mod leader of this mod is also in 4 other mods, one of them as a mod leader! Now to create a mod properly your mod leader cannot be leading other mods at the same time, and doing bits for other mods too! Or else he aint leading the mod properly. If this mods gonan be succesfull, and it does have some talented develepors in the team, they need to sort their priorities! "
lol. You are quite ignorant considering he isnt working on ANY other mod :)
The mods you are thinking of (probably by checking his Profile) are actually old mods he was on or helped with.
Trust me, our project leader is quite focused on INS.
"i hope this mod dosent turn out like red orchestra, with the whole "realism" thing, it wasnt very fun to play, but it looked good."
Don't worry. I learned a lot from my experience creating RO and I don't plan to let Insurgency make the same mistakes.
The only way we're accepting a new animator is if he is as good as our current animator, who has 5 or so years of experience animating. That's why the requirements are high.
"Also you listed the Corpsmen under the US Marines. Marines don't have Corpsmen, they're apart of the navy. Yes corpsmen are navy doctors working with marine units but you may offend some marines. Marines would never consider a corpsmen apart of the marines."
We appreciate that information, however we are not distinguishing them marines as much as we are just associating them with a Marine squad :) We plan on having "medics" in some way or another so Navy Corpsmen just fill those spots in our Squad formation for the marines, after all we're just a game and are going for simplicity. We are aware however that Corpsmen are Navy not Marines.
as Fiblah said we arent out for an award on originality. However, if you read the information on our website you'll see that we ARE bringing something new and original to the First Person Shooter catagory, which is one of our primary goals.
i'm sorta lost what this is all about but w/e
"how can you tell how good a mod will be, by looking at renders?, i have played mods with great models/skins, but the gameplay was aweful"
Read our gameplay/info sections, fear not, our gameplay won't be aweful (or near that).
Read the site for a lot more media and info than you can find in this profile
Yea, the idea is that Conventional or Paramilitary or Guerilla forces can all be "good" or "bad" based on your opinion and the situation of the map.
For example, lets say you're from America and that basically decides how you feel about certain conflicts. Sure, you'd like the USMC Conventional force, but you might also support some Guerilla actions against other nations, such as Afghanistan against the Soviet Union in the '80s.
Fact is, the idea of Conventional vs. Unconventional forces or the seperation of Conventional Armies, Paramilitary and Guerillas, are not in any way the seperation of good and evil, just the difference between the types of Forces fighting eachother that will be different throughout the possible scenarios :)
I'm excited to see what you guys can put together :) The models are nice and I cant wait to see something created from this engine. Very interesting concept as well.
our team has like 15 people on it..tops
"HORRIBLE!!! The only good thing this has going for it is the gun models! The sounds are CRAP! The levels are bland and boring! The characters are bubbly, like cartoons and most of all the game play is horrendous. I seriously had high hopes for this game but they most definitely have been shot down!"
I take constructive criticism, but not **** like that. And yes I agree 99% is a bit bold. Not that many people dissagree to the point that the mod is great, but I'm willing to bet most people would dissagree with you that the sounds, levels and characters in RO suck.
Totally_tonedef, way to be mature and make suggestions for improvements instead of completely ripping on the mod, when about 99% of people would dissagree with you.
Incase you didn't know. We won the BEST SOUNDS section of the Make Something Unreal contest, how can we have bad sounds then? explain
I also dont think the players look like cartoons:
you need the UT2004 patch if player deaths dont work!
1. Anticipation grew throughout our community from the teasers.
2. The Colt 1914 was re-manufactured in Norway, an ally to Germany, and the Waffen-SS in particular was supplied with them.
