Just having a little fun with BFME. It has very little to do with RJ outside of an easter egg in the next release. Just taking a relaxing break after the release and brushing up on my scripting/cinematic skills :D

It should be really easy. When you open the rar file, drag the RJ_RotWK_1_06 directory to your c:\ drive at the root directory. Then just run the shortcut.
If you want to place the mod somewhere else, installed the game somewhere besides the default location, or play the non-english version - just change the properties of the shortcut.

Also, I'll be putting together an installer version of the mod as well, but it might be a little while.

That's my biggest fear. It still is BFME, but every shot I have is taken directly from the game on highest settings.

I'm in the process of uploading the non-installer version.....My connection for upload is pretty slow and the file is roughly 288mb
I'm uploading in a couple of hours. I'll be uploading the one without the installer, then the installer version will be a little later. I should have mentioned I live in California, so I'm later than most everyone.
Yeah, the release date is this saturday - 3/7/2009.
The release is going to be on the 7th of March. I had a problem with my cable company and the internet for a couple of weeks which caused some problems.
the plan is to change it the following way:
- remove the lightning power
- move hour of the witchking back to level 10 (add a map wide debuff on all heroes for their powers to recharge 1.35x slower)
- Witchking starts at level 1-4 using just a sword. The sword has a smaller radius, but the damage is higher. At level 4 you get the mace. You can toggle between the two weapons with the mace getting a larger damage area. When you attack a hero with the mace you also stun then temporarily
because they are about cracked versions of software.
there are a number of things we are doing to make the AI smarter. Each release I try to improve it at least a little.
If they select the hero they should see the leadership radius.
Thank you for your comments. While larger maps would be nice, I think the way the game is designed, anything of that size could have considerable lag for most people playing. I don't recall the map-size limit.
For the blood and gore - I don't think I'll be adding any for the forseeable future. Once the mod is finished, I might add an add-on for those that want these features.
I am reviewing the witchking's powers this will and there will be adjustments from the 1.05.06 powers
I'm putting news updates together and we are working on a trailer and some in-game video. Right now we are trying to nail down an exact release date. The choice we are looking at is how polished/finished this next beta should be. There is always loads of work to do, just when to cut off and release a playable version of the WIP.

The next version will be available by the end of Feb. I could upload 1.05.06 here, but I didn't want to create confusion that 1.06 was released.
And I'm not sure what to flag it as - released or unreleased. Each new version is almost as large as the whole so it's hard to say.

The mod definitely is not dead. I wanted to get 1.06 out for the moty stuff, but it will be released after the preliminary voting. I'm going to be adding news/articles leading up to the relase, look for the first one shortly.

oops, missed the questions.
1 - I can't remember there were that many that were available. Elves are getting a huge overhaul in the next release, and will essentially have 3x the number of units to choose from. Arnor also has elves as well as the inns. Right now there are a number of units available from the inns.
2 - Yes, 1.05.06 is the latest release. 1.06 will probably be in about 2-3 months and will have a huge amount of changes. I will probably do a news item summarizing all the updates in January. Our push was a little late to try to get us in the top 100, which would have been nice, but oh well.

from what I've been told, some people have been able to play it without the patch, but I'm not sure if there are any bugs.
I have not seen that one before. How long before it happens. I know that with the shell map the bottons on the right side will delay in appearing. Is it more than just a few seconds?
Thank you, I've worked a lot on the mod and there should be enough to explore for some time. Hopefully until the next version which I promise will be at least the same quality as this one. Especially with much more to the campaign.
