The Advance Ground Armored Tank is the successor of the ill-fated Ground Armored Tank that was deployed during the clone war. It is a completely new vehicle, built upon the solid combat experience the GAT suffered during the clone war. The A-GAT is free of all the shortcoming its predecessor suffered from. The Armor has been upgraded significantly, allowing it to rival the armor of any other light tank in service. The mains gun is now a powerful blaster cannon that can easily challenge all but that most powerful ground vehicles, and an more improved, quicker integrated droid brain was installed to make this lethal machine even more deadlier.
For all its improvement however, it's not free of shortcomings. The tank was from the ground designed to be a dedicated anti armor unit. And while it firepower rivals that of any medium adversary in the field and outmatches any of its counterparts, it comes at a cost of having no secondary weapon system at all as the power consumption of the main gun is too high. This means unless supported with other units, it can be easily countered with infantry and aircraft. The tank also has a big pricetag, being the expensive of her kind.
