Will I have to delete ShockWave in order to download this? I tried installing Contra and it said I needed to uninstall ShockWave, is it the same with this or no?

I really want to learn how to mod Command and Conquer Generals Zero Hour. I find modding extremely complicated, but if someone could just give me a brief explanation and tell me the programs I need I'll be well on my way. I'm bristling with ideas everyday for it and it frustrates me that I don't know how to do anything. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated! :)
