It's not really double standards. They're against women having to cover up their faces. I'm only against it if they're forced to.
If they want to cover their faces otherwise, then I believe they're free to do so.
Although I think it's silly of the extremist Islamic culture in the Middle East to want women to cover up their beautiful locks of hair and faces. Faces are important in human interaction so we can determine a person's feelings, which cannot always be determined alone by voice. As an analytic introverted person, it's extremely important I see the face of someone I'm talking to as it allows me to read them.
The exact double standard thing here is that media thinks its disturbing for muslim women to fight while non-muslim women are patriots for fighting.
Regarding face veils, it is a religious obligation for Muslim women to cover their bodies, and there are easily noticeable reasons for that.
Women are the greatest temptation made to men by Allah. Most interactions men have with non-relative/marriage partner women are sinful, including looking at them and talking to them (unless you're giving critical information or planning marriage), so it is important for women to guard their modesty by covering themselves, as the more they're uncovered the more they are part responsible for the sins that men do when looking at them. In addition, it is much easier to interact with a woman as a person when they're covered, as opposed to appearing as a sex object without proper clothing.
Hmm maybe some doublestandards Ey
What does ey mean?
