It's compatible with MGSO, as long as you follow the install instructions (check 'custom mod' in the MGSO options and delete the conflicting esps). I haven't had a problem with it as far as that goes.
Using this in combination with MCA and Tamriel Rebuilt did cause fairly frequent crashes to desktop though. It's just too many scripts for the game to handle.
Aside from LGNPC (which in my opinion is a must) I try to limit mods after MR to texture replacers.
I suggest looking for the 'Morrowind Chocolate pack'as an alternative that inccludes the mods you mention as well as others such as the economy adjuster and BTB's game improvements, Necessities of Morrowind etc. For me though, MR is a great 'one-stop shop' that fills out the world nicely.
