We are aware of the mapping issue. Sadly as we lack an experienced mapper some of the team have been learning from scratch to produce what you see now.

Although we do not actively need more testers at the moment (that may change in the near future), we are looking for mappers and people who are familier with Hammer. Typheron has had to learn to map from scratch to help progress the mod and bring forward the release. If you fancy trying your hand at making a map for exterminatus drop by our forum or IRC channel as contributions will be most appreciated!

We have not made any plans at this time to include assault marines. Mostly if you plan on running towards a nid with a bolt pistol or chainsword you can count on being introduced to the pointy end of a talon or four.

We chose Ultramarines because of their past experience in fighting tyranids. We are well aware that some people want other chapters, and we did consider most of the other known chapters as well as some we made up ourselves. At the end of the day UMs have strictly codex organisation and fit in very nicely with what we have planned.

To make it clear, out of those on the team who play 40k none collect UMs. Just so you know we are not being fanboys about our choices!

The closed beta is basically internal testing amongst the dev team our testing teams.

As Chromeangel said, the maps at the moment are just a temperary testing ground for the rest of the content. When we get the rest of the content and code implemented we will begin rigorously working through the maps to produce something decent for you to run around and kill each other on ;)

None as of yet, we dont want to go making videos of WIP and before all major things are implemented. We are trying to maintain high standards for our content, so while we are trying to iron out the animations and visual effects we will be sticking to screenies ;)

None that are controllable; for balance reasons really.

heh sadly we are not even thinking about the other armies yet. for now we will be concentrating on purely marines and nids (the PDF soldier is planned to be an npc). maybe after they are completed we will consider it :)

The main additions are the tyranid warrior created by ChromeAngel and its first weapon the Deathspitter created by Darkwulf. There is also a wallpaper of our Space Marine Bob complete with his trusty bolter!

Also the backgrounds for all the models has been revised so that they are easier to see.
