The opposing source team does not work for us, nor are they in production anymore.

We are looking for distribution methods such as Vapour, the Steam for modifications, and we may contact VALVe regarding Steam distribution when we have a more polished product.

We have no plans or agreements with VALVe at this time, nor are we affiliated or endorsed by them at the moment. Depending on Steam 3's content delivery options and the like, we may look into distribution via the Steam platform at some point.

It will be large, but it won't be insanely large.

Currently at alpha 0.0.1 we are sitting at 350mb, with mostly textures and models taking up space. A lot of this could be deprecated before the mod is completed, so we cannot give an accurate filesize at this time. Rest assured we will do everything we can to get our filesizes as small as possible for the end users' sake.

Gameplay mechanics generally aren't parts of maps that the player can interact with, but the overall process of how the gameplay works and flows in the map. And I think you should cover that in the tutorial, becuase generally it's one of the most important factors in multiplayer design - That the map flows well.

The dam is brush/BSP based.

The shadow involves some lower lightmap density on the particular dam faces.

All said, the HL1 dam was pretty unimpressive. My goal in creating it was to keep the feel of the original while trying to convey a sense of scale and such that VALVe just couldn't do in the original, due to size and engine limitations. If they had the power, I'm sure they would have gone for it. (Not to give an exact measurement but this dam is fairly close to the maximum size a level in it's entirety could be in the HL1 engine!) Would you rather see a really cool huge dam which gives you vertigo when you look off it or something which is miniscule in comparison? ;>

In response to stroganoff:

We're aiming to release content that should run fine on someone's system who is capable of running HL2, at the same or slightly adjusted settings.
