Hey there! Im a 24 year old animator and 3d artist from New Zealand. Ive been doing 3d for around 4-5 years now. I'm currently heading up a new Ninja mod for Unreal Engine 3 which you can check out at: ninjamod(dot)blogspot(dot)com
Its kind of like Tenchu meets Splinter Cell, though all real Bujinkan Ninjutsu techniques. No fantasy or flying around with grappling hooks. Its all planned to be the way it was. Works been a lil slow at the moment with the new studio coming up.
Thanks man, appreciate it.
Hey guys, just a summary upade. We've made a big step and will conintue this project as a studio demo. Come back and check it out every so often as a new WEB PAGE link will be posted shortly.
Thanks man, been moving slowly with my move to Aussie. But Ive only just now got the internet connected at my new place.
Hey sweet, Im actually just settling in here in Melbourne now. Hope you like the game progress that will be coming up soon. Finally I can get stuck back into the Mod seriously. Haven't had much time since it started.
Hellz no, you'll see in the outline that its a stealth based ninja game though more realistic then the others you've seen out there.
Will be good to see your progress. Hey, just wondering what the Kanji under the name Katsumi Chiyoko means? As my girlfriend who's Japanese and I cant make it out. Just curios as to what it says. Will be good to see the screen shots when you get em up!
Cheers man, yeah I was happy with Tama's design!
Cheers man! we should have some juicy new screens and preview animations up for you all soon.
Well, we plan to enter the competition with a 2-3 stage demo in I think August next year for the final stage of the competition. The winner gets a licence to use Unreal Engine to publish a game, so yeah I guess id try get it on shelves if possible.
But in saying that its a big task and there are some GREAT teams out there. For now we'll just keep working away at this for ourselves and see how we do. (^__^)
Well good luck with that. Is it on Moddb?
The Blog has a small update if you want to check it out. If your looking for screen shots those will be up in a lil while. Arigatou!
Hey sorry for the late reply, Giant Otaku. Dont worry things are getting done. We'll be sure to post some updates shortly :P We're not going anywhere, just have times when production slows down abit.
no one into traditional Japanese music?
Cheers for the input, but the game design is pretty much already decided. Stealth will be a key part of the game so the UE3 AI will play a large role. We wont be speeding up time as you suggested. This is a realistic Stealth simulation. Time will go as normal and most missions will be during the early morning, sunset and the cover of night.
No mocap and thanks :P
Though the in game animations will be a lot better.
Currently looking for a musician/composer to work on Ninja:Rekishi. The music would be along the lines of Traditional Japanese. We are a fun and creative team and our Mod is becoming more and more popular around the globe. Only 1 or two music samples would be need for our Demo version. If you interested please contact us at email@example.com
Our mod can be seen at:
yeah I think its just that time of year where everyone has been abit busy. Uni, jobs ect.. But I'm sure things will be moving well again (^__^) THe story and plot are coming together well. I think players will really enjoy the game.
Not even close to dead, just busy :P
The teams growing and things will be moving along faster. Come back soon for more updates (^__^)
Nah not dead at all. We've just been busy lately. As this is our part time project some times we will be side tracked. Im moving overseas shortly so that takes up alot of my time. But anyways I'll be looking at getting things back up and running asap!
Thanks for the input. But to be fair to our modeller the pics up atm on Moddb aren't the best quality. I am thinking about getting parts of the texture redone though.
5,000 views! Thanks for all the support guys and girls.
Great, thanks for you interest. Looks like you have some nice work and great talent. I'll email you shortly.
We'll no public updates as of late.. But dont worry things are getting done (^__^) We should have a new update coming shortly!
Sorry another question, as this sounds interesting is will it be more realistic sword technique based or will they be slashing giant beams of light and dashing at sonic speeds?
Are you going to make up characters or use actual swordsman like Miyamoto Musashi and Yagyu Jubei etc?
Thank you, once we get further along we should bring out a quick video of in game basic movements. Hopefully it's not going to be too far away.
I think quite a few people dont realise the reason we have this page. We're basicly putting up any steps we make in this game to show the community. Similar to our blog but abit more basic. So people dont need to ask why models look basic and why screen shots are small etc. What we show we show (^__^) As the game progresses and higher quality models are placed in map then we will post nicer shots etc.
We do appreciate peoples interest, but please realise we are showing a step by step MOD in the making. Our methods may be different then others, but this is the path we've decided to take.
Thanks for reading!
Hehe fair enough, most of em are just work in progress pictures at the moment. A lot of the current model will be changed out etc. Done worry though, once we have more to show we'll make them High Def (^__^)
Textures for the Backgrounds and walls etc that is. The building models will be switched out for final versions.
haha cheers! (^__^) Don't worry though, textures wont be far off :P
Haha thanks man. Don't worry about it dying. This is something I enjoying and taking my time with. In saying that things are going well though (^__^)If you want to keep up with development progress I'm pretty openly posting all the steps we're taking on our blog: Ninjamod.blogspot.com
