Hello, I'm Gabriel the producer of Prototype Studios (better known for the mainstream release: Space Adventure). I have a Bachelor's degree is Software Engineering and have been in the industry for 2 years now. I began and funded Prototype Studios the Winter of 2012, with a buddy of mine along with my younger siblings. I started the company as a programmer (with no prior game development experience and still studying in college)but soon switched to production since somebody needed to keep track of what everyone else was doing. This was probably the most important decision for our development team (So if you don't have a producer, really go out there and get a good one). So that's it about me, I love to talk games, game development, and Space Adventure, so if you ever want to talk just let me know.

The thing is you won't be able to accommodate all systems. Run the check and if it fails prompt them to install the needed components. If they don't then they don't play the game lol. That's the reason that AAA games have machine specifications, so they can bypass these difficulties: "It's the user's fault for not having a good enough machine, not ours for programming it that way". Kind of shady but it bypasses the problem. :)

Maybe run checks before the game starts to see what version of OpenGL they have installed if any? That was a reocurring problem I was having not too long ago. Maybe switch to something more cross-platform nowadays might be a good thing since so much variation between systems is around.
