Born at a very young age, I am a man of mystery and power, whose power is exceeded only by his mystery. B] Am I really supposed to describe myself? How shallow - decide for yourself who I am, because if I could sum up my life in one line I would die of embarrassment. Wait you read all this? Woohooo! My Jedi powers are real! Something. Anything. :P

Looks mighty fine, man. It might be a pain applying the skin to the slat armour on the turret, though, as you'll have to align the skin for each little piece. People usually just use transparent textures when it comes to stuff like that, but that kind of thing can slow the game down.

By the way, how much sub-objects does it have, apart from the main chassis, turret and barrel?

Sub objects? Hooo boy. 20+. :P What I don't get is, how do I make the tank so detailed without the sub objects? Oh and by the way, the polycount is 6200. :O. But I suspect thats because of the track armour being a sub0object, so I'm re-making the chasis right now. :/ What would be an ideal polycount?

Woah.. that's a lot of sub-objects XD. If it's not a seperate moving object (like turrets, treads, wheels, etc..), not used for house colour, or you're not planning on making it appear/disappear as part of an upgrade, it's best to just combine them. For example, if the grenade launchers on the Khalid are any of the above, combine them with the turret.

For Generals one sub-object is equivalent to one infantry unit (they are usually single object units), so if 300 infantry on screen at once slows down the game, you'll only need 15 tanks with 20 sub-objects to get the same kind of lag. So if the object has a name in renx(cube01, turret02, chassis69, etc..), it'll contribute to how heavy the model is. It's really up to you. If the unit is expensive or so large that it'll be hard to fit many in one screen, many sub-objects won't be that bad. Tanks would usually need quite a few sub-objects; chassis, turret, barrel (if you want it to recoil), tread (if you want moving treads. Two if you want treads that move in opposite directions while turning), and a house colour object. So 6-8 is a good number.

I don't pay attention to the amount of polys, but 1000-2000 is probably a good mark. It's not as important as the amount of sub-objects when it comes to lag, and the poly count will go down as you improve in modeling anyway. It's good that you'll remake the slat armour, though, since I'd probably cry if I had to apply a skin to that XD.

PM if you want to discuss it more, or we can continue filling this comment section with walls of text, haha.

I think the tracks should be a tiny tiny bit wider.

Still good though, you are improving fast.

Well, this is my first serious tank. :) Pakistan's Khalid (Immortal) MBT. Tell me what you think! I'm planning to add a soldier in the hatch later on, because I want the MG to actually shoot, but it will look unrealistic in a tank on tank combat scenario. Advice anyone? It's always welcome. :)
