Thank you very much. I'm sorry things had to go this way, but I do like to stress the importance of author's rights for modders. We aren't big corporations with exhaustive legal teams, but even though we just mod in our spare time for no money, we still deserve to have our work credited to us. That same thing obviously also applies to your work; nobody should take that without your permission either.
I appreciate that you are very forthcoming in stating the reasons why these K&B textures ended up in your mod, and I also appreciate your readiness to remove them as I asked.
I do wish you the best of luck for the future of this mod, and any other modding projects you may embark on!
Small correction: Upon further inspection of the Images section, I have to conclude that you did not just steal the Fellah texture but also that of the Sipahi Archer and Sipahi Lancer, equally K&B units for which I made the textures.
As a long-time modder of Age of Empires III and a person that some would consider a big name in the modding community, I have to say I always appreciate when people take up modding, and it's great to see you've been able to release your mod. Congratulations!
However, what I do not appreciate is violation of author's rights. You've clearly made plenty of the textures shown in the Images section yourself, but among them there is also a texture quite blatantly stolen from the Fellah unit in the Knights and Barbarians mod, a mod of which I happen to have been the founder, and for which I created this very texture. I do not know if you took just this one texture without permission, or if there are more, but suffice to say that stealing assets from K&B is not a correct way to make your own mod. The K&B team member who alerted me to this theft also informed me that you may have taken one or more textures from the highly esteemed Napoleonic Era mod; I'll leave it up to you to confirm or deny whether this is the case, but as the NE team are good friends of K&B's, I will notify them of this situation.
To get to the meat of my point; I like that you have taken the effort to mod this game that a whole community of modders has been working on since its release, but it is simply not acceptable that in doing so, you've taken assets created by other people for specific mods, without asking for permission or even attributing these people. As such, I will politely ask you to take down this mod until you can upload a version of the mod in which all the assets in question have been removed.

We do have another gameplay video planned...
It's very nice to hear that!
They were taken from the internet...
As for our civs, the first version, called the Prologue, will indeed only include five, but the next version will include a full fourteen civs.
Thank you very much. I'm quite flattered you liked my textures.
Were this mod to include misinterpreted Mayan calendars, I'd say we are going to release the Prologue before the end of the world.
Well, we're certainly not aiming for lameless. Whether or not it'll turn out to be, nobody knows, but if we think something isn't useful enough, we'll change it so that it is.
Thank you very much... Expect more maps over the next few weeks, which will hopefully be just as much to your liking.
Thank you very much. While it may still be some weeks (months?) until we'll be able to release our first version, I hope the weekly Friday Updates will be enough to keep you interested.
Well, the actual flag that you're going to see on top of buildings will have the black cross, and the selection screen one might get it too, since I'll have to rework some of them anyway.
Double consonants, bloody hate them. :p
I'll change it in stringtable though, thanks for correcting!
Thank you very much! I may have accidentally been responsible for that texture... :p
Did I tell you you are a genius? Yes, I probably did... Doesn't hurt doing it again though, especially not as this looks almost as good as the Lebanese one... Keep up the good work!
DayoftheNinja, you are a GENIUS! Shame KnB didn't come up with the idea of planting a tree inside a building... :p
Utterly, utterly love it, and half hope my textures of the same building will come out just as good. One can but hope, after all...
Isn't Istanbul a Turkish 'translation' of Constantinople anyway? I mean like the Egyptians call Alexandria Al-Iskanderiah?
Thought about it, and regardless the rest of the team, I might give it a go... After all, it would be a crying shame if we couldn't even get the Prologue finished.
I know, it's supposed to be dark red and yellow... However, as many people have comitted this cardinal sin before, and nearly all medieval flags are red and yellow alreay, we've decided to do it this way.
Off with their heads!!! :D
For it is quite hard to read at this scale, here is the description again:
"According to the Byzantines, COnstantinople was the religious capital of the world, and Orthodox Christianity was the only true faith. For such religiously minded people, it's essential to have proper places of worship, and Byzantine churches are to be considered the most beautiful in the world. As with all Byzantine buildings, influences from both the old Roman Empire and the Middle East are visible in their churches, or Basilicas, as they preferred to call them"
A nice quote from General_II on our team forum, when new team member spangopola asked how the mod was going and what he could do:
"We by far have the most potential for completing work, with the biggest modding team ever assembled for AoE3."
