The movies 2001 a Space Odyssey and the sequel 2010 used a constant hiss from the gas mix being pumped into the suit. You would only hear breathing during heavy EVA.

Yes, this is wisdom indeed. Just update the cosmetics guys, the original audio was great, including the theme toon when you first donned the HEV suit.
