Hi Lord_Mordja. I don't think the demo will be going back up now that a release is upon us.
Hi Lord_Mordja. I don't think the demo will be going back up now that a release is upon us.
Seems like the GOG process is a bit more at their discretion, but I'll give it a go for sure.
Thank you! I'm a solo developer. A tired solo developer, sometimes. ;)
Certainly not ruling it out - if they'll have me, I'm in!
I'm getting "Failed to load the game data. File seems corrupted." error message when I try to run it after installing - anyone else?
There's no download yet for Dust Fleet, it's still in development.
Quite right - it's something I've thought about. The engine does have support for more than one "target point", but these need to be manually defined, and on something as big as the station can cause problems with the range calculations. Something to figure out!
Awesome - that sounds exactly like what it needs!
I think it looks great. Looking forward to the IndieDB redesign - it would be really nice if it toned the green, it tends to compete a little with the branding of games themselves.
It sure is! Find it here: Steamcommunity.com
Thanks mate. Yeah, really happy with the name. No one was gonna remember "Fleet" ;)
Nothing wrong with a nitpick! ;) Perfectly good point, I'll get that sorted.
This is great feedback. I'm pleased to say that literally everything in this video has been revisited and improved since it was made, although I do think more work on the lighting is needed. The space backgrounds have mostly been replaced with much brighter ones, although I still have to make quite a few more of them.
Regarding single player campaign - it's not planned, but it is something I'd like to do. At the very least, some key story missions that trigger based on your progress. It's unlikely these will be in the initial release of the game, but I am hoping to keep the game fresh post-release with regular updates. No promises - I might need a bit of a break once this is done!
Thank you! Feels like I've been working on it forever ;)
Thanks!
Regarding the ships, I agree, I've been thinking the same thing lately. The lighting probably isn't helping either. I've got a few ideas I want to try out, but for now, it's all about the gameplay.
I'd really like to do a single-player campaign, but writing a story isn't something I'm very good at. Having said that, the version of this game that comes out for release won't necessarily be where the updates stop. Once the game meets the design criteria, I'll be looking to see what else I can add.
I'm definitely going to need a bit of voice acting just for unit responses, so thanks for that link!
Yep! That's just what this ship is used for.
No, you pretty much got it! That's exactly what this ship is for.
Thanks! It's been quite a learning experience, but it's starting to pay off.
Thanks! Still working hard on it, hoping to show off some new stuff real soon.
Yes - this fighter launch method is inspired by Homeworld 2's - keeping fighters in squadrons makes for a lot of gameplay sense, and the knock-on effect is that they also launch together.
Thanks!
No, that "smoke" is just a compression artifact on the GIF :D
Oh great, thank you! Feel free to get in touch any time.
Thanks, Cap'n! ;)
Don't worry - I've been through enough of those to know that no one likes them EVER.
I intend to add in wreckage, definitely. It looks weird when the ships just vanish. Gameplay-wise, you'll actually be trying to defend stations rather than blow them up. In some cases you'll have to liberate them, which will pretty much require a boarding mechanic. I'd like players to be able to capture ships that way as well.
Thank you!
I finished applying a paint job over the weekend - I might have overdone it, though. I'll get a screenshot up soon and you can let me know! ;)
Thanks!
I haven't nailed down the system requirements at this stage, but I've purposely avoided upgrading my graphics card to ensure I'm developing with average-performance cards in mind.
