Really cool addon. I grabbed this and your guard spawner script.

I've seemingly been able to fix this by adding a null check around the erroring section.

I surrounded the erroring block with the below and the crashes have stopped:

if ui_inventory.GUI ~= nil then
end

I seem to be getting some intermittent crashes since updating to the latest version. It references line 152 which seems to be part of the script in regards to scavenging.

xray logs contain:

! [SCRIPT ERROR]: c:/games/anomaly\gamedata\scripts\haru_skills.script:152: attempt to index field 'GUI' (a nil value)

FATAL ERROR

Been playing with this a couple of days, it's fun to use and feels fairly balanced. You don't get benefits of most of the abilities till you've got a few points in them. Once you get some levels in the skills the effects start to be more noticeable, but seemingly not overpowered.

I look forward to seeing this idea being expanded in the future. Whilst I've always felt STALKERS equipment based progression works well on its own, an optional skills/character progression system is a really neat idea.

One thing I'd suggest, maybe some small accuracy increase that gains based off kills/firearm usage? There was a mod that did this back in the good old days of Shadows of Chernobyl, it gave you a little more accuracy based on rank (nothing drastic or OP). It worked quite well.

People complaining about this, why?

It's a mod, if you don't like the mechanic then don't use it. The author isn't integrating it into the base game or anything like that.

It's a neat idea regardless.

Ash/CyberP (original author) isn't a fan of this mod. He prefers vRSD. I won't quote him here as his views on the community update are quite uh... colourful.

Unfortunately, this seems to be incompatible with creative sound cards. The implementation of OpenAL Soft seems to refuse to work.

No idea whether this is a known issue with OpenAL Soft or if there is any workaround other than using onboard audio.

Edit: Changing "snd_device" in user.ltx to "Generic Software" has fixed the issue.

Not just you, I'm having the same issue.

If I set my onboard realtek as the default sound device, it loads correctly. So this is definitely an issue with Creative cards.

No idea if it's openAL-soft specifically or the OGSR implementation of the library.

Does anyone know where to find the "spiral" artefact for Toad?

He asked me to get an artefact from the hangar in the Garbage, but the artefact isn't at the map marker and I've searched the whole hangar pretty thoroughly.

One other thing I quite like is that it cuts the damaged/old ammo types from Anomaly which just clutter the inventory.

Ammo itself also seems slightly more common than in Misery/Anomaly so you can use your favourite weapons more often, rather than having to switch between loads of different ones.

The exoskeleton seems to be missing head protection values in the damages.ltx file.

They are supposed to have the helm_battle values for head protection, but are currently set to offer no protection from head shots.

This of course only affects the player, but could do with a fix.
