There's a little rectangular hatch with a handle surrounded by a black and yellow border in the room. if it's flipped over it will look like a rusty sheet of metal a little wider than a suit charger. Just pick it up and place it over the leak!

I got the long reply in my email. Weird that it didn't show up here. Thanks! I'm enjoying it very much. Thought I'd add that the MAC-10 feels somehow more OP than I remember it. The recoil is so gentle that I can unlock most safehouses by sweeping the front yard without taking my finger off the trigger, yakuza-style. Infamous difficulty, too. I'm pretty good at clicking on heads, but the ole stamped-steel mailbox doesn't seem to need my skill. The Uzi feels like an AK in comparison.

Hey man, I've been really enjoying the Redux. Far Cry 2 is in my top 5 games of all time. I haven't had this much fun with the game since the playthrough where I first found the scoped weapon switch exploit. I really appreciate all of the bugfixes you've made to the original game, Dylan's mod, and all of those you've made to your own tweaks. The FOV increase is a godsend, as well as the mouse fix. I like your changes to the viewmodel positions with the pistols and long guns. Flamethrower enemies are like ******* minibosses. The FAL has made it impossible to bypass most guardposts, and I respect this punishing gameplay tweak. A couple of very noticeable grievances have plagued me throughout this playthrough, though (I'm almost 80% done with this one and have been using your 1.6 update the whole time).

Firstly, the most aggravating bug is the obstructive map icons. The new map icons often cover up the recovered diamond icons. I've been going for a 1000 diamond playthrough and a few times in Leboa-Sako I went on a few wild goose chases around an empty briefcase because the recovered diamond icon was hidden by a guardpost icon or something. This may be a bug due to the Thief-style legends (which I was able get used to easily, but they're merely unsightly. No offense.), or with the FOV fix. The FOV fix has been a hugely positive gamechanger for me, so it would be a shame if that were the source of the bug.

I think the GPS bug may be related. The player icon is shifted noticeably to the right, and I'm fairly certain it's due to the FOV. Too bad, cuz I'll take the comfy angle over a working GPS. It's inhibited my diamond-hunting a bit, but I'll live. I actually really enjoy your omission of the player icon on the physical map. I'm not the "muh realism" kinda gamer (after all, I put an shooter where all the guns are inexplicably left-handed on my pavilion of best games), but that **** really changed up the atmosphere for me. Makes the whole thing more cerebral, if that makes sense. The GPS bug does make this decision occasionally handicapping, though. Sometimes I actually get lost for a minute.

The most obvious, but less aggravating bug I've found is that about half of the phone calls I've received in the game have played no audio. The mission still updates when I check the main menu (so it's not game-breaking), but when I hang up the usual "Mission Updated" message doesn't appear on my HUD. I've played this game so many ******* times honestly, so I can live with this. This would be extremely annoying and confusing in a first playthrough, though. You mentioned a while ago that this may be related to direct x. Would changing the version help?

I just now experienced this same bug with a Jackal Tape in Bowa-Seko (the one right down the road from the South-West bus station). It didn't play. I've been enjoying actually getting to hear all the tapes in-game for the first time (I had youtubed them previously due to the infamous "Stealing Boots" bug).

That's all. I hope your work continues. It's been really great!

i respectfully disagree about the mainframe level. I cheated to manual save on that mission so I could replay it. There are several ways to beat that mission stealthily. You can even take out every guard and stuff their bodies in closets and in vents and stuff and then waltz through the rest. A few guards spawn after you use the computer, but you can pop them quick and keep going. Most satisfying level ever. Also fun with the crossbow if you get all the cards.

Now that the Insurgency team is going to start using the Unreal Engine, are you staying with them or sticking to Source and working on Underhell?
