Blue Portals

Mod review may contain spoilers

Blue Portals is a very interesting game, and after the long wait, we're all excited to play.

The concept is very interesting along with the new puzzle elements. The puzzle elements really separate this mod from other portal mods out there because it forces you to use only one portal to your advantage. The game has a very interesting look to it which also makes it different from any other portal mod. The textures are simple and good, and the level designs are interesting as well. I had a blast playing this mod as it explored many different puzzle elements probably most of us haven't even thought of. The detail put into this mod is absolutely wonderful. The small posters in the observation rooms, the small bump maps on the wall, it's amazing how it takes you into the game. I really enjoyed how they make the game seem more relaxing than Aperture Science with the warm colored walls, which was the whole point. The creators really made everything work out nicely as planned. They also have little easter eggs for you to find.

There are some problems with the mod though, like a big that the last door won't open. I had to noclip past that part because it wouldn't let me through. Some of the puzzle elements are broken sometimes as well. Once I got a cube inside of the cube catcher, and it didn't read it. I also couldn't grab it back out, and it didn't happen only one time. Another bad things is how short it is. With only 10 levels, it's not going to last you that long. I completed Blue Portals in less than an hour, and for working on this mod for 2 years, that's pretty ridiculous. Another bad thing is that the timers in the levels can be unforgiving. I do believe they should be a little bit longer. Another thing that really doesn't matter much is the announcer. It really made me want to rip out my ears. And finally, the ending. It left me really disappointed.

All in all, it was a great mod which you should check out. It's very creative, and while it lasts, it's awesome.
