At least we kept the "flame" theme ! Napalm is a great idea that we definitely want to implement someday, but when we do, we want it to burn down forests too, and make it really cool and tactically unique!
No, A Wrong Turn alters many original files and makes the original game unplayable ; that's why we suggest that you perform a full copy of your Rise of Nations folder, install AWT on it and then treat it like an entirely different game.

Well, we haven't exactly been super-active ourselves (see above), but we're back now, and help is of course welcome. We're always in need of scripters, as we'd like to implement paratroopers, minefields, chemical weapons, and other human-rights-friendly stuff that the original RoN does not include (probably because the devs, unlike us, were not complete degenerates), and needs scripts to be coded.
Actually, the AWT team took its usual pattern : working hard during the year, with regular updates and new contents, then going dark a whole summer, while our members are busy going outside and talking to people, then getting back to work as winter is coming.
In clear : we're back !
Actually, we'd like to mod other games to show the AWT universe from other points of view : FPS, role-playing games, or even flight simulators : an AWT Mod for Il-2 Sturmovik could be very fun to make and play.
But for now, we'll focus on Rise of Nations. As you may have noticed, we're already having a hard time finishing this one mod !
Strictly speaking, no extremist can build a civilization ; but that's precisely our point ! See the answer we left on your comment in the "video" section.
The entire point of our mod is to depict a world ruled by extremists fighting each other. If we started to make one of the factions not-extremist, then every other nation would be made the "bad guys", thus undermining our universe : everyone is the bad guy, everyone is depicted as crazy extremists. In a sense, everybody being insulted, nobody is.
Some other mods exist, that feature normal civilizations. I'd recommand that you look into the World in Conflict mod, which puts great emphasis on realism !
Thank you ! I don't think we'll increase the airbase capacity : we're trying not to alter the original balance whenever possible. Also, I play as Vidalia, and if it was up to me, I would delete airbases and planes altogether... ;-)

Hi Super! Good job on this mod and models. I particularly enjoy the fact that you're focusing on the early greek period : it reminds me of the glorious days of Age of Empires I, when the world trembled at the sound of our Hoplites !

We are still working on the 1.01 update, that will include all the Experimental Units, as well as many balance changes. I cannot give a precise release date so far, but to keep you waiting, we are uploading tonight the final version of our User's Manual to A Wrong Turn !
It contains tons of background info, screenshots, pictures, detailed credits and gaming advices, as well as a detailed installation guide and fixes for the infamous "scenario editor bug". Stay tuned to download it as soon as it gets moderator approval !
We originally planned to make the ubersoldat a flamethrower unit, but for some reason it went south. The thing is, it is not a home-made model, so we are rather limited in what we can get out of it.
This said, one day, it will definitely be a flamethrower !
Regarding the variety of available units, we actually plan to work on that : maybe adding a dedicated "tank hunter tank" to each civ, as well as command tanks, more specialised ships too. However, our main guideline is not to add any useless unit, just for the sake of variety. Everything has to have a precise in-game purpose !
Finally, regarding the SS, you have a point, but look at the original Rise of Nations for example : the Tiger Tank replaced all of Germany's tanks, despite the fact that it was not their only tank in WW2. If we were to give to each civ all the equivalent to its "special units", everyone would end with the exact same basic troops.
To sum up, here is our equation : balance > coolness > realism

We didn't ! We obtained 3D Studio Max through... er... other means, that cannot be discussed here, but were 100% legal and copyright-friendly and had nothing to do with The Pirate Bay.
It is actually the same song. The "Varshavyanka" is a traditional Russian Civil War song, whose lyrics refer to the communist internationale, the liberation of all the oppressed workers of the world...you get the picture. The themes fit perfectly the Vidalist ideology, and the music its dark ambiance, so we decided to make it their anthem. As for the change in title from "Varshavyanka" to "Vidalyanka", it's more of a play on words !

Regarding the trees, I can craft new bh3 files, just tell me what you need exactly and I'll try to create it. Nothing too fancy, though, I'm relatively new at modelling, so please go easy on me!
Finally, about your Vietnam war mod, I like the idea. For tech support, you should visit the RoN Heaven forums, especially the Game Modifications section : the modding community is very active, and you will find there answers to all your questions!

There is indeed an interest in exploring future conflicts in the world of A Wrong Turn, but this will have to be the object of another mod, or another game, or a future expansion pack for this mod !

Each country will have only eight actual unique units, that will either be replacements for existing ones, like the Wotan replacing the Howitzer, or entirely new ones, such as the Hardened Veteran. Besides that, even mainstream units have a different skin and model for each country. In the current version, some duplicates remain (howitzers and mobile AA missiles), but they will all be gone in 1.01.
